Deemed a classic
This was a fun story and is great for anyone into RPGs or JRPGs. This consistently ranks in the top 100 for 'greatest RPGs' lists and it shows. Great writing, great character development and artwork, great soundtrack.

A Wonderful game, that will warm anyone with a heart.
You definitely get a sense of that youthful magic you would expect from a Studio Ghibli production. The characters, the animation, the use of color, all top notch. The game starts off with brilliant animations and voice acting which makes you feel like you're watching a feature Ghibli production. Only to be taken away from you and replaced with with wordy text dialogue that can be completely unnecessary at times. This is made worse by the seemingly never ending tutorial and further worsened by the fact that I cannot speed read the text due to the strange dialect and wordplay the characters use.The game looks amazing on the switch OLED screen. However the game runs in 720p docked.Edit: After playing some more and refamiliarizeing myself with some other Studio Ghibli work, I've come to realize what really makes Studio Ghibli so great. It's the way they mix reality with fantasy. Whether it's tragedies that happen in real life. Or simply sharing experiences that no one talks about. For example like the way water drips off of the trees after the rain has stopped. Combining these elements with magic and spirits adds to the believability of it all.

Beautiful on the Switch (Not a remaster!)
Final edit: restarted a new game and have not had any crashes in an additional 40 hrs of play. Short load screens and just beautiful. One of the best on switch and great for fans of rpgs and monster tamers.Edited my initial score removing an additional star because of the number of crashes in dungeons and losing progress becomes quite frustrating, and no fix appears to be coming.Initial review: I was worried about my preorder due to a negative youtube review I came across. Luckily it seems the worry was unnecessary. Ni No Kuni looks and (so far) runs beautifully. I made the right choice in not getting the Remastered version for PC or PS4 because besides portability it hasn't lost any graphical or audio fidelity like most Switch ports do. This is one of the best looking games I own and I recommend it is you enjoy JRPGs or monster capture games. I’ve had about 6 crashes in 25 hours of play.Visuals: 11/10Music: 10/10Gameplay: 8/10 (Combat extremely clunky but manageable, seemingly random infrequent crashes.)Value: 8/10 Worth the $42 I paid and all on cartridge but the crashes need a hot fix that likely isn’t coming.

Fun for hours
This game is so much fun! Has the main quests and tons of side quests. I had to buy my son a copy cause he loved it too. Oh and the cut scenes are so cool and cute!

Beautiful game!
Very beautiful game. Perfect for anyone who likes Studio Ghibli. A lot of story setting at first but once the adventure really begins, it’s hard to put the game down!

A fateful port of the ps3 classic!
After around 9 years, Ni no kuni returns to a nintendo console!Back in 2010 the JP exclusive 'Ni no Kuni: Dominion of the Dark Djinn' released on the Nintendo DS,It was an ambitious title that took the typical JRPG formual, and added some twits. It gameplay and story from Level-5, along with music and art from Studio Ghibli. The first version we got in the USA was 'Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch', this was a full on remake that overhauled the visuals, and gameplay to offer a more 'modern experience'.Some story segments were streamlined, and other were changed to build up the new villain 'The White Witch'It's kinda sad that the original game was lost to time,But it's nice to see that not only can Nintendo fans finally play the remake,But the game finally returns to a handheld. This game is largely the same as the PS3 version,Still locked at 720p30fps, but with the switch forcing 1080p (even if you change the output settings)You'll get a bit of aliasing on some diagonal surfaces.Other than that, the game's great! There are some slight changes to the ps3 text, but nothing that changes the story. So if you never played the PS3 version, I'd say pick this up!

I just bought this game and its great so far, I love the animation style, never saw a game quite like it, its almost like playing a cartoon at times. Audio has english or japenese options with subtitles. Runs great so far, There is a patch for it so when you put it in update it before playing. Didnt play this one on ps3 so glad i can now on the switch

An Absolutely Best RPG on Switch Right Now
This is by far one of the best if not the best RPG games ever made and is an absolute must have for any Switch ownerIf you don't know anything about Ni No Kuni, it is essentially:-Gibli studio animated-Pokemon like monster catching/training-JRPG in a nutshell-Exceptionally well written/voiced-Plays and feels like a wonderful storytale-Will bring HOURS of joy to anyone-Good for all ages and more enjoyable as you grow older-Literally is what Pokemon should have been long agoAll in all, I don't think there is any other game that I've played that does so many things so wellAnd as someone who lost a mother, I can relate to this story even more.I rarely give top scores to games, but this is a 10/10
