I came in expecting this not to be terribly hot, but it is extremely hot, as some reviews say the pain lasts 20-30 minutes, the jerky itself tasted delicious, though I made the mistake of eating a large piece.The pepper that came with it as well was excellent quality, dried and preserved well, I'm too scared to eat it yet though.

I consider myself a hot sauce aficionado. But this took me by surprise. And it has a whole ass reaper pepper in the bag. That was tasty. Semi dehydrated . The jerky is good. Heat 8 of 10. Hits immediately and rides for about an hour!! Will give you the high off of about 5 pieces. I recommend this for people who are not beginners. This one is legit folks.

Mine came with only two weeks left until the sell by date. The taste is great but a tad sweet. Please don't be fooled by your first bite. The heat shows up in your mouth but the deadly part shows up a minute later in your stomach. Great heat, good taste and mine did come with a complete reaper pepper that I am not brave enough to bite. I feel it is overpriced for an almost out of date item. See other reviews where some people received unacceptable deliveries. If yours shows up in good shape and you like hot you will like this.

I got this for a gag Christmas gift. Thinking no one else would eat it and I could get it. Well someone decided to try it and take a big bit (teenagers, right?) Well, even with a good warning of it’s HOT, he still spent 20 minutes chugging milk.For me, it was PERFECT! It’s that level of heat, where I want 2-3 small pieces at a time. Nice burn, beautiful flavor. It’s a great snack when I want something with a good kick!

The flavor is really good but even someone with an iron stomach (me) can only do a little at a time. I knew from the smell and the pepper seeds in the jerky, this might just be a challenge. With my first tiny bite (This is very important in tasting something this hot), I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor, but I didn't think it was the hottest I tasted. Habeneros are wickedly hot but their fire doesn't last in your mouth. My husband can take a little heat and with my non reaction, he decided to take a bite. That was about the time I realized every time I swallowed the fire got hotter in my mouth. LOL! Too late for my husband who can't take it like me. I let him sit there about 5 minutes suffering while I was getting the hot pepper sniffles. Then I got up and got two rolls for us. After the rolls, the effect was gone. Word to the wise, a drink won't do it if it is too much. Bread helps. I got extra bags so I am taking it to a party next weekend to see who else wants to take the challenge.

I enjoyed the the flavor and intensity of the heat which does come quickly and last awhile. Total recommend if your a lover of extremely hot snacks!! Most definitely will buy again.

The jerky was actually good. I didn't think it'd be that good.The only thing I didn't like was the sad, dried excuse of a Carolina reaper inside.I took the challenge with this reaper and my kids were quite disappointed with my lack of a reaction.I thought at first having a half dried reaper was perhaps going to be even hotter than fresh but there's no way.I barely reacted.But still, the JERKY was good. For any who haven't tried the reaper actually has a slightly sweet taste along with the heat that really went well with the jerky for me.

This jerky strikes a great balance of snackability and heat. I was able to eat the whole 1.5 ounce in one setting so it's certainly not SUPER hot but it does leave you with a nice burn. Taste is also very good unlike so many spicy products that completely disregard flavor in order to make it as hot as possible. The only down side is the burn doesn't last very long. Within a couple minutes of eating I couldn't even tell I had eaten anything spicy, heat had completely dissipated. I'm used to peppers that leave you burning for 10-15 minutes minimum. If you want to kick it up a notch from here, get the "Insanity" jerky from the same company. Much hotter but doesn't taste as good in my opinion.
