Works but be careful of your specific model, requires modification for the #72300
Be careful what battery your model requires. Mine uses a battery that is more like your normal AA battery with a +Positive and -Negative terminal on each end. This battery as a +Positive terminal on the top and a +Positive terminal on the bottom, the -Negative terminal is actually a tab that comes out of the bottom edge and is bent up the side. If you have a typical +/- you can easily modify this battery to work with yours. Simply put some electrical tape over the bottom then peel the tab (the negative terminal) down and fold over the bottom. This will alter the battery to have the correct configuration. NOTE the battery I received was the #72000. If you you need the #72300 and do not make this modification you could damage your otoscope by shorting it out.

Battery not fitting in
I bought 2 batteries to store as back up and now I am trying to to put the batteries in and they do not fit. These are new batteries and I have never used them before. The return window is closed but I want to be refunded for this purchase. Please respond back to me. I have to give it 1 star to send the review but I will change the rating when I get refunded.

Equivalents!
I am very happy that this battery works in my otoscope and was much less expensive than the Welch Allyn 72200.However, it heats up the handle of may otoscope to the point that I got a slight burn the first time I tested it. I don't use my instrument very often, so I am keeping this battery; but I would warn future customers about this issue.

Great alternative to $$$ brand name
This is a great alternative to the expensive Welch Allyn otoscope batteries. It seemed to fit tighter than my old Welch Allyn, but it is working fine. I'll be interested to see how long it keeps a charge. My old Welch Allyn is at least 5 years passed its expiration date, but it still gives a light!
