Great Little Amp
Hadn't played guitar since I quit my band back in the 80's. Recently some gave me a guitar he didn't use but I had no amp. I searched for a small one but i wanted some power and Peavey was always my brand. This amp was the perfect fit. Inexpensive and small enough that if I didn't use it much I wasn't out much money or space. some re views were bad but I took a chance anyway. Not disappointed at all, actually quite pleased. Distortion is great, packs a great little punch volume wise.It did make a ticking/popping sound which was most of the reason for the bad reviews. Sounded almost like a metronome, but this has gone away after playing a few times. Thanks Peavey, I'll be looking for one of your larger amps if I continue to play.

Good Stuff
This is a small amp with clean and distortion effects. It isn't loud and doesn't have a bunch of effects or even reverb. What it does, though it does quite well. It's a practice amp. You probably won't be tempted to take it to your basement jam sessions with a drummer and a bass, but It might make it it in a quiet coffee bar setting. There are ports for mic and headphones. Why they are both 1/4" I have no clue. Perhaps pro stuff is in that format. Anyway good adapters are inexpensive. The clean sound is fine. It is close to the Vox AC that I tried my lap steel through. The distortion side is great, too. Give it an extra 20 or 30 watts with an xlr out and reverb with channel footswitching and this would be a killer combo. As it sits it is close to my ideal practice amp.I am a Peavey fan and when I reach the point where the extras are needed I will look to Peavey products. Play on.

Amp for Mandolin
I am not the best of musicians so take this with a grain of salt. I bought this to be able to mix my Mandolin with my computer so the sound of my mandolin does not drown out the computer volume and I would be able to actually listen to what I was playing instead of feeling what I was playing. You know the Quit Riot song "come on feel the noise". Well I wanted to hear it to make sure it sounded right. Now that I found the sweet spot for the Barcus-Berry Outsider pick-up on my Loar LM-520 this amp produces some very good clean sound and volume. I am really impressed with the little guy. The amp does what is needed but I have noticed that without the overdrive turned on it does not put out much volume and I can't tell if I am hearing my instrument or the amp, I guess that is good. So I have been leaving the overdrive set at less then 1 for best sound reproduction. Turn up the overdrive past 2 and wow - shredding on a mandolin.

Great little practice amp
I've had this Peavey Solo amp since 2018, and it has grown with me. It takes pedals very well, just plug them straight into the front. I started with one pedal, and eventually had enough pedals to make into a pedalboard which sounds great with this little amp. My most used pedal is a Tone City Golden Plexi which makes it sound like a cranked Marshall even at a low volume.

nice little amplifier
I've owned a few peavey amplifiers in my life but I don't think I've owned one with only 12 watts but it sounds good and is just what I need at the moment feels solid like all the peavey products I've had I think it's a keeper wow after playing through this little amp for a few minutes you do really get the nice tube type sound it is a great sounding little amplifier for a great price

Decent amp for good price.
Very reliable and cheap amp good for practice. Handles even extreme distortion but with scooped mids it rumbles and makes weird noises. Drive function isn't very good at all and I don't recommend using it seriously. Going to buy a line 6 spider to replace it. Far more vertastile.
