Is the moisture content listed on the package, for example 30% - 33%?

Grade B is fine for making vanilla, but I had some kind of memory lapse when ordering the Grade A. That said, they were the fattest, moistest of any I've ever used. I no longer have the packaging to tell you the actual content, but am rarely concerned about moisture, as all it takes to soften dry beans is to soak them in rum, or whatever alcohol you are using, for a half hour, or so. Also, I never cut them in half and "strip" them, instead, using scissors, cut each bean into tiny, tiny pieces, toss the pieces into the alcohol and vigorously shake the bottle daily. Makes for much less mess and waste of the beans. With each new batch, use a new bottle of alcohol and fresh beans, but keep the old bean pods in the bottom of the bottle. A year or 3 down the road, several batches later, dump all those used pods and beans into a 5# bag of sugar and enjoy the most delicious vanilla sugar to add to your baked goods. Hope this helps.

What is the difference between the grade a and grade b beans? i slice them open to scrape the inside into sugar. will i notice a difference? ty

Grade B beans are drier than grade A. The amount of flavor compounds in grade A vs grade B beans is roughly the same. The result is that grade A is better for using directly in baked goods since the flavor can be distributed more evenly and quickly throughout the dish before the extra moisture is cooked off. Grade B beans, on the other hand, are better for making extracts or vanilla sugar since they don't transfer as much water to the alcohol / sugar, and the time that the beans are in contact with the surrounding medium is much longer. For vanilla sugar, grade B is better than grade A. There's less clumping, and you can use two grade B beans for what you would pay for one grade A bean.

Heavenly

As soon as I opened the amazon box the whole house was filled with this lovely smell. Didn't even open the packaging of the vanilla itself for a few days, but couldn't help walk around in the kitchen just to enjoy the smell. It's probably the best thing I have ever smelled. The beans were plump and juicy, and seem to be of high quality as far as I can tell. I also bought grade B ones from another brand. These ones seem to be much bigger and more moist. No issues with mold. Excellent value.

Qood quality and great value

Smells and tastes wonderful! I bought these specifically to start some vanilla extract as holiday gifts, but have also used one to ad to a jar of jug at to make vanilla sugar- heavenly! And another I a couple canning recipes this summer.. the paste in a jam recipe and the pod simmered in a syrup recipe.. probably could have used a smaller piece in the syrup and saved the rest for other recipes. I’m not super familiar or deeply research, but these seem like good quality for a great price. I had them waiting in my cart “saved for later” when I noticed they were a prime day deal!

High Quality, Organic Vanilla Beans!

I started making my own vanilla extract using gin and vanilla beans. I ordered these vanilla beans and they have worked perfectly. It was recommended that I use grade A vanilla beans and these fit the bill. I use a pint of gin and drop in 2 packets of the vanilla beans that I split. Then I left in a cool, dark place, shaking the jar every so often. After 6 months, the vanilla extract is ready to use, but after 12 months, it's amazing! Not only do I have an entire pint of vanilla extract, I also squeeze out the "caviar" (the seeds) from the pods for a more intense vanilla flavor. I absolutely recommend these organic, grade A vanilla beans to make a high quality and very economical vanilla extract.

BEST VANILLA BEANS I HAVE EVER BOUGHT

The minute I opened the pack, I could tell the difference over other vanilla beans I have ordered. The aroma was much better and I could feel the freshness as I was cutting them. I bake a lot so I make my own vanilla. Loved the difference in these right away. I gave 4 stars only because I just started the new batch of vanilla and I want to make sure they work as well as the initial impression. For basis of comparison, I have been making my own vanilla for about 8 years and have ordered from various suppliers.
