An affordable, beautiful dress watch with a smooth-sweeping second hand
Let me be clear: pictures do not do this watch justice. It really is a stunning timepiece that stands out among a sea of dress watches which are either extremely conservative and dull or garish and tacky. In photographs, the stainless steel case of the watch appears dull and uninspired. In person, this watch's combination of polished and brushed stainless steel is very attractive and shines brightly. In the stock photos on Amazon, the wave detail on the face of the watch appears very boring. In person, one can truly see the level of detail that that went into the design of the dial - not only the actual lines and their contours, but the exquisite gray color which adds a lot of classy pizzazz to an otherwise conservative watch face. It's a very subtle addition to the design of the watch, but it pulls the look of the timepiece together perfectly. The hour markers are chrome accented which creates a nice contrast with the steely dial. I also think that pictures make the watch seem a lot more squat or round than it really is. To make a long story short, you have to see this watch in person to really appreciate how nice-looking it is.The hands and the hour markers have lume on them. The lume is actually pretty bright but doesn't last long at all. I never expect dress watches to have decent lume, so I wasn't bothered by this shortcoming. The size is a tad larger than what I prefer in a dress watch, but it's much more elegant and reasonably sized than other affordable watches and Bulova Precisionists.Due to the high-frequency quartz movement, the second hand sweeps as smooth as butter, and more smoothly than any ETA movement I've seen. . I love automatic watches and rarely buy quartz, but this watch seemed to give me the best of both worlds: the ease and accuracy of quartz with the sweeping second hand of an automatic. Bulova claims this movement to be accurate to 10 seconds a year, and after several weeks of wearing this watch, I've not noticed any loss or gain of time.Bottom line: this is a really great watch. It doesn't have a sapphire crystal or a Swiss automatic movement, but it does have an exquisite appearance, an accurate movement, and a sweeping second hand. At this price, it can't be beat.

Beautiful Bulova Watch For a Great Price
Just received my watch yesterday and can I tell you, it was much anticipated. Beautiful styling, Great price, Precisionist quartz movement sweeps effortlessly, and the intricate swirl pattern on the face of the watch is subtle but adds that flare as you bring the watch up close to inspect it. One small think you will notice is that there is no Bulova tuning fork logo on the face of the watch ( this is a new refinement to their 2013/2014 watches) Im not sure if this will increase the value of say an older style watch with the tuning fork logo in the future, but it might be something to keep in mind. The designers may have removed the tuning fork from the face, although it is still on the crown of the watch. Some issues that others were concerned about was the diameter of the watch, I found that the watch sits well on my wrist and after reading some of the reviews of the watch being too big I was a bit skeptical on buying (I myself having smaller wrists). I found that the watch case does protrude out maybe a little further than some similar watches with the same size face, but its nothing to steer you away from this beautiful watch. I would have to say it fits me perfectly.Another issue is the leather strap. This is one thing that I feel was really over looked. Granted just about every (newer) Bulova with a leather strap on the market today has this same tacky, thin, cheap feeling strap. Bulova has been around a long time and it is surprising to me that they would throw a band like this on their watches, but I mean its better to have a cheaper (replaceable) band then cheap internals. I would personally invest in a new strap for this watch and plan on doing the same for mine. 20-50 bucks can get you a great strap that will fit this styling perfectly. There are tons of options out there, don't be afraid to look. All in all, This is an exquisite Bulova watch for a third the price of some of the watches in the Precisionist series. The only downfall that comes to mind is the strap which again, is easily replaceable. I would recommend this watch to anyone who is looking for a precise movement with the beauty of a sweeping second hand. Bulova is a timeless name and that this would be an excellent addition to anyones collection.
