Maped Soft Gel Advance 17Cm Scissor, Multicolor

I was on a quest to find a cheapest & acceptable good quality pair of Scissors ✂️ for non-precision work like cutting tags, sticky tapes from packages & especially for lending them to others as I don’t want to use/lend my super expensive EUR 100 German Zwilling (Froideur ice-hardened & hand finished) scissors for these purposes. I’ve researched for 6 hours non stop on various e-commerce websites. Yes, i tend to do that even for a product that cost peanuts 😂In the price range of under INR 155 for a 17cm Multi utility Scissors, i’ve found various options from decent brands like 3M Scotch, Cartini, Maped etc.. Out of all those options, i had found the best value in these Maped Advanced Soft Gel 17cm Scissors bought in Aug 2022 for INR 155 as I’ve eliminated Scotch brand option for its poor quality construction & grip based on various photo & video reviews & eliminated the Cartini for the extra shipping cost added to all it’s products. Besides i’ve used couple of cheap & expensive Maped office Scissors in the past while living in France. I must say the price of Maped products in India are much cheaper/ half the price i had paid in France. All of them had a very good & ergonomic handles but short lived edge retention. With regard to these Maped Advanced Soft Gel Scissors, the brand website doesn’t specify the HRC rating of these as the blades on a good pair of Scissors have a HRC rating of 52-55 like my Victorinox that have 55 HRC. The higher the HRC, the longer the edge retention/Sharpness of the blades. For the cheap price of INR 155 one shouldn’t expect a true 55HRC blades like my Victorinox 17cm that costs 5 times the price of these.Ordered them on Amazon and received them today.Upon receiving these Maped Scissors, I noticed how well made these are like the usual excellent ergonomic handles that have plastic outer surface & gel infused silicone in the inner surface. Obviously, the silicone part does attract a lot of lint & dust which one should be aware of. I like the Stainless Steel riveting on these and the brushed Stainless Steel blades are well finished for the price. The cutting experience is excellent for the price but not as good as my Victorinox & certainly no way closer to my Zwilling. Since there is no mention of the HRC rating, i am not sure how long the sharpness will last. I will update in a year with use. Overall, as a person of extremely high standards, i highly recommend these Maped Advanced Soft Gel Scissors in the price range of under INR 155. 👍 I am certain one could find these cheaper during deals on Amazon.

High quality scissor - very strong and precise cut. Can snip a thread in the tip of the scissor. Useful for paper, cloth, threads, etc.

Initial impression is good. Very comfortable to hold and cutting is a breeze.
