SKS Bluemels Mudguard Set

A bit of a fiddle to fit the first time.Metal rods need to be cut for a neat appearance. this is easily done with some steel wire cutters.I used the Draper 57768 Expert Steel Wire Rope Cutter, 190mm , Blue.End result is a very secure mudguard and I'm particularly happy that they are 65mm giving much better coverage for my 47mm tyres.Only slight issue is that the end splash guard of the front mudguard is a different construction of very thin material, not the same as in the pictures.Certainly ends up stopping splashes well though.

Very good quality. Bought 35mm version for my Cannondale road bike. Works very good with 28mm tyres.

My mudguards were supplied with a sliding bridge that was for a much smaller mudguard - it is impossible to assemble using the supplied parts. I note that an earlier reviewer had the same problem and since there are only 2 previous reviews then I have to wonder whether I've just been unlucky as well or if its is endemic.You can purchase the missing piece (assuming those are correctly labeled) but I shouldn't have to so I am returning the mudguards tomorrow.

Nicely finished, high quality, simple to fit and adjust. Make sure you buy the correct width for your tyres or clearance can be marginal. None better for a touring bike or commuter cycle. Not the cheapest but they last very well and the finish is like new after several years.

It is impossible to buy full-length mudguards here, so I've had to resort to getting them sent. Those token jobs that are ubiquitous nowadays just don't do the job. Any water about and you get wet from the knees down, as well as in the face and up the back. Since I don't wear cycling gear for my 5km commute, it is a drag arriving with wet shoes on the few days in the year when it rains.The SKS mudguards are easy enough to fit. All the nuts and bolts needed were in the pack and everything appears to be stainless, which is good here by the sea. I did need to cut the stays by about 15mm to get them to fit -not easy with an old hacksaw and no bench! About an hour to complete the task of fitting, I would say. I have a rack on the back of the bike and that presented no problem, even fixing the stays to the frame. There is no rattling or any other problem now they are fitted.It hasn't rained since I fitted them, but another benefit is that the grit that used to sting my legs when cycling in shorts now gets captured by the front mudguard. I can hear it rattling up the mudguard and not sticking in my leg.The mudguards are sturdy and look smart in black. I have noticed that the wind catches the front wheel a bit more now, but it's a fair price to pay. There's also a reflector on the back one which is reassuring since I don't have one elsewhere on the bike. In time, I shall get a pair for my wife's bike too.I'm just waiting for the rain now.

These are of good quality and sre easily fitted to the cycle.

Came with missing items, it took me a while to realise there was nothing I could do with it. Wouldn’t recommend. I was also unable to return

SKS Bluemels Mudguard SetSKS make the best mudguards, and the safest. These are a like-for-like replacement for the previous one which broke when I ran over a stick. The safety clips popped out and the rest of the mudguard broke. But I didn't come off. Great design.These new ones have a plastic decoration on the front, which doesn't fit over the front tyre. When I remove the decoration there is a hole left in the mudguard which looks ugly. Disappointing.
