Fun read to learn good grammar
Actually read from cover to cover and enjoyed many of the tongue-in-cheek examples.

Invaluable purchase!
Extremely useful and I wish I had purchased this book a long time ago. My writing improved immediately and exponentially after reading this book. And it wasn't a boring read!! The author included a ton of useful and engaging examples to illustrate the main points. I found this book to be accessible and easily digestible. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs to write about anything. The book even includes a chapter about speaking and pronunciation. I felt like that was a bonus to an already-awesome book!

It's a practical usage guide and a pleasure to read.
A clue to Patricia O'Conner's take on American English usage is in her title, Woe Is I. It's evident this volume will not pay blind homage to old rules that are no longer realistic if they ever were. O'Conner knows when to hold the line and when to accept usage that strays from the technically or formerly correct. The authority of her opinions makes the book a valuable resource, and her clever humor makes it as much fun to read as a good novel.

Good Reference Book
This was my "go to" grammar book in the 1980's. When she went to college, my oldest daughter "borrowed" it and I never saw it again! I decided to purchase a new volume, both because I have missed it and because I realize that language evolves over time. This is a great reference for what is acceptable today in grammar. Some rules have changed and most have not. For anyone who wants a 'grammar bible' this is a great choice. Clearly written with easy to understand language and examples. Five stars!

It was in decent condition
It is a good book both funny and educational, however it was a little dirtied.

a MUST HAVE for any writer!
this book is absolutely incredible!! it includes great information that is current (published in 2019; it's now 2022) and presents it all in a way that is easy for me to understand and interpret. as an english tutor, avid writer, and substitute teacher, i plan on using this book to help my students and my writing! ♡

A great review of needed grammar
Fantastic book. A great review of long-ago learned -- and probably, quickly forgotten -- grammar principles. Can't believe I'm saying this about grammar, but I wanted and could have easily handled even more.

Grammar
Best book I miss using dictionaries, encyclopedias and references. This book I am constantly picking it up and learning or relearning. Grammar may change with the times but good grammar will always shine
