Well made fits well just one thing needs corrected, its sharp and could cause injury
The metal edges are sharp and protrude from the boat and could cause injury if someone were to grab while moving the boat or loading and unloading the boat. An easy fix is to get some rubber u channel to run on the edges. At 3/8 inch Aluminum I haven't found that size yet. It seems the closest is 5/16.Definitely, a product I like and need for my front trolling motor, but I am trying to find a permanent fix to the sharp edges and corners. At the moment, I took the real strong and think Gorilla Tape and put it around the edges, holding it in place with Black Electric Tape, but this will not hold up in a marine environment, I don't believe. It's definitely a problem that needs to be addressed.

Seller is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about how his product will fit YOUR canoe.
The media could not be loaded. A perfect install and fit for my specific canoe.I installed it with ease (seller provided a picture of a proper install) and put it to use same day.Zero slipping over 2 hours of use with a 30 pound thrust electric trolling motor. This mount has given my old 17’ Coleman Ram-X some new life. The trolling motor worked so well that I’m now looking at some larger kicker outboard motors to take on bigger rivers in my state.10/10 recommend this product.Just spent the afternoon on the water with the wife and dog- minimal paddling required all day. The dream.-Life long fisherman and Midwest adventurer.

solid and a great seller
I bought the standard V-clamps and learned after using on my canoe with aluminum gunnels (& 1/2 inch depth underneath) that they come loose when raising the trolling motor a few times to remove weeds. Robert (the seller) appropriately warns users about this possibility and provides an email address with the shipment. I wrote to him, and he soon shipped a different clamp to use (one board, to sandwich the gunnels). I look forward to using it but I am impressed with Robert's response enough to write a review (never did that before) - I recommend buying from him.A follow-up: Robert shipped a solid-wood clamp for the underside of the mount. I tried it today and it worked like a champ. Stayed tight through multiple motor lifts and even running aground in hidden shallow waters. I used the original wing nuts as back-up but that was just for insurance. I'm quite happy. Thanks Robert!

Well made, seller very helpful.
This product is very well made. I ordered it to fit a trolling motor to my Pelican Canoe. The seller had to ship me a special bottom clamp, which arrived promptly after I messaged them. I am pleased with this product and highly recommend it to anyone trying to fit a trolling motor to their canoe.

Looks to be well-made
I purchased this mount for my 26-lb thrust Minn Kota trolling motor. The mount fits behind the rear seat of my 17-foot Grumman canoe. I was using a home-made mount created from 2x4s, but the flex in my DIY mount was worrying. As others have said the wing nuts for the mounting bolts don't seem to fit tight enough into the V brackets. A couple of washers from the hardware store should fix that. I am using the bolt upside down in the meantime.Unlike others, I did not have to drill additional holes to get the mount to fit. The outside holes worked perfectly for me. The holes are 1 foot apart.

Great mount, easy to improve or modify if needed...
Very well made but does not clamp onto my brand of canoe as advertised. The angle bracket flops around when tighten and honesty could easily be improved to make it more universal. I tried reaching out to seller via e-mail but no response. Since I was impressed with the rest of the mount, I went ahead and fabricated a hardwood back piece to slide in under gunwales. I removed l-bracket and replaced with large washers and wing-nuts to existing bolts. Holds very tight and doesn’t move all day. Works great and goes on and off in one piece/action. Great motor mount, just be sure it fit works with your canoe. If not, with a little ingenuity, you can make it work really well. 3 stars because of sellers lack of response to e-mail. A great product, would recommend and buy again.
