This kit isn't perfect, but is good.
The media could not be loaded. I bought this kit with the intention of sending it back if anything failed. Well, after running into almost every problem imaginable I finally completed this job (start date Aug. 9, 2024 and end date September 22, 2024).It's been 2 days and everything is working as it should. I will say the lifters do suck because they are annoyingly loud. The cam does not cause lifters to go bad, the lifters cause the CAM to go bad. So I have determined that the CAMSHAFT in this kit is perfectly 100% ok, as well as the gaskets that come with it.The Timing chain is also good and trust worthy. Install with no worries, as well as the tensioner that comes with it.The picture of the lifters are after 2hrs of run and idle time. I pulled the head because I was showing a misfire on cylinder 2 only during idle (500rpms). At 1k rpms the misfire would go away and then only return at low idle speeds 500rpms. But, it was enough to cause me to freak out because of how loud the lifters are and so I worried that it was chewing up my Camshaft. By the way, the misfire was due to bad gas I believe, because I had put 87 in there and it sat for almost 2 months underneath a shade tree. So I think between bad fuel and parts getting dirty that fuel wasn't getting to that injector. Since then I put 93 octane and haven't had an issue since. You can see from the picture that it was in fact not doing any damage. And so I reinstalled them and been driving it for the last 2 days without any more misfires. I will replace the oil filter after another day of driving or 100-150 total miles of driving since completed and will change the oil and filter after 300 miles or 6hrs of running time. I will add a Lucas Oil Stabilizer to this oil change with Royal Purple 5-20w, to see if it will in fact quiet down those lifters. I don't think that this kit is a something that will last 100k miles or even 25k miles, but it might if I change my oil at 3k miles or sooner. Only time will tell. Conclusion: I would recommend to buy this kit if you want to learn how to do a cam and lifters for the first time. It is a lot of work. If you have broken header bolts that are broken even or below the surface, (DO NOT DRILL THEM OUT) find a welder and have them Weld a nut to it and extract it that way (PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING) not doing so will cost you way more money and way more wasted time if you snap an easy out.HEAD GASKETS: DO NOT PUT THESE ON WRONG, it is very easy to do and will cause you to replace the gaskets and eat up way more time. When your heads come off match up the old ones with the new ones and mark them driver and passenger side with a SHARPIE. Mixing these up happens way to often.CAMSHAFT: Nothing wrong it and is 100% trustworthy. You could infact only buy the Camshaft and gasket kit and find MOPAR OEM Lifters off EBAY and make this a very affordable rebuild.LIFTERS: Are obnoxiously loud, but seem to get the job done.May God Bless You
