This product is really confusing. The instructions you get with it are aimed at an upgraded version of this product and I think the listing text is the same. The box states this is a ‘Smart’ product, but it cannot be connected to anything. The listing states that this has 24hr monitoring and it is capable of video which it isn’t. This is purely a digital peephole, so a small viewer shows you on a screen what is outside for a few seconds after you press a button. There is a slot for a memory card, and I think this will take a photo of what is outside for later viewing on a pc but as I don’t have a memory card I cannot tell. This uses 3 AAA batteries although there is a micro USB slot on the side which when plugged in acts as a power source, but then when this is on the back of a door, you don’t want a trailing cable leading up to the top of the door. This doesn’t have its own internal battery and is not rechargeable, so this is a bit of a chocolate teapot. The only way you could keep it powered via micro-USB is by hanging a power bank on the door and plugging it in. If you just want a non-smart larger view through your peephole then this will do, but recording what is outside is beyond this. Pricewise at £51.77 (at time of review) there are others that do the same for half the price.My reviews follow this star rating:1 Star; Very unsatisfactory product.
