Not as hard as other portable tranferring boards.
The functionality is a little soft and flexible but we were able to slide the lighter weight person on it. The maximum weight for this and chair is 160lbs and trust me, I believe it. The quality is fine, but not great. A little on the softer side instead of sliders that are made of harder material boards. It is a little pricey, I guess because it goes with the chair we bought for an elderly relative to move up and down because of their mobility has become more unstable on their feet, so they need something to help them to get up, forbid if they should not be able to get back up. The safety of this board is about a 3 out of 5 stars for all the reasons I mentioned above. It is something to think about before you purchase it, do you really need it or not. It's probably better to get a harder portable board than this one.

it doesn't slide under a person behind welll or slide around well enough once they
I don't seem to have as much ease at moving my father around if he sits on this when he is on the floor after a fall. The item was purchased to use along with a chair that can lift a person up from the floor in a sitting position...I would say that I could try to put some furniture moving disks on the side that faces the floor and then try moving my father if he was sitting up on the floor. I also did not have much success moving my mother by trying to shove this under her while she was sitting in bed. IT JUST DOES NOT SLIP UNDER A PERSON THAT WAY SP DONT THINK THAT IT DOES YOU HAVE TO SIT THEM ON TOP OF IT OR LIFT THEM UP AND PUT IT UNDER THEM.

Very useful for transfers
Initially I thought this transfer board was a bit expensive for what it was, but it has turned out to be well worth it. It’s the most useful thing we have for transferring to and from the wheelchair. It has saved the day more than once.

Better For Sliding Than Transferring
This is a decent transfer board if everything lines up, literally. I have a hard plastic transfer board that I feel much more comfortable using to transfer my Grandma. She's about 160 pounds and I could see that this board was sagging slightly down the center when I tried to transfer her from her wheelchair to her bed. I lowered her bed and got everything as even and close as possible. She has dementia so she can't take directions from me or help herself balance. I did find this to be very helpful for sliding her up or down or from side to side while already in bed. I have to pull her back up to her pillows a couple of times before she falls asleep and this is much easier on both of us. I also use this to rotate her in her bed when she needs to be changed. When she's sitting up on the couch or in the car this makes it much easier to slide her to where she needs to be. The weight limit for this transfer board is only 176 pounds and my Grandma is close to the max weight so I'll continue to use the hard plastic transfer board that I already have to transfer her and I'll be using this to help slide her. It does take a lot of strain off my back and shoulders and makes moving her much easier. It's easy to clean and store and is useful if you're a caregiver.

Not for me & misleading descriptions
As multiple other reveiwers mentioned, the stated size and the pictured size don't match. Expect the smaller version. I am also out of the weight range of 176 lbs. I never saw the weight range listed anywhere until I read the included instruction manual. Yep - I READ THE MANUAL!! Now stop laughing. This doesn't seem to be the sturdiest transfer board that I've seen. It will be passed along to elderly friend who is very small framed and I know will fit the weight range. For about $50, I would have expected accurate description and a transfer board that I can flex and slightly bend. Which makes me question the 176 weight range is accurate. Should it be less??

The outer layer slides easily around the inner core, allowing the patient to move easily also.
Maidesite Transfer Board, Car Transfer Aid Easy Slide Sheet, Waterproof Positioning Patient Transfer Device, Tubular Slider Sheets for Lift Chair, Car, BedFirst impressions: Nice transfer board for patients 175 pounds in weight or less. The outer layer slides easily around the inner core, allowing the patient to move without much effort. Gliding along rather than lifting and reducing the possibility of falls or injury. Not 36 inches square, maybe half that. The wording says 36 inches but the photos show 18 inches. Definitely the pictured size.Installation/setup: Place under your patient and allow the outer layer to glide over the inner core carrying your patient along with little effort.Final thoughts: I like this, it works really well for lighter patients. The heavier the patient, the less efficient it is. The outer sliding layer is easy to slip around the core. It’s a bit small and it’s not recommended to try moving from a big difference in height in case of slippage and falls. It seems well made and pretty sturdy. It should last a while if taken care of. I like this and I’m glad I got it.⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality.⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price.⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

Slide board
It didn't work as well as I had hoped. It didn't seem very sturdy and I didn't feel comfortable using it.
