I own their lip balms before I realized they had brushes. Ever since trying them I've wanted a brush for their lip balms since they tend to stain your fingers if you go for the tinted ones. I love the retractable mechanism and find it works well. I don't carry either with me so I can't speak on that but the hole looks like it would invite lint and debris if carried in a bag. I do keep a balm at my desk and now this accompanies it. It's not the best at spreading the product evenly but it does allow me to scoop the product from the pot more hygienically. I did notice that my tinted balm also seems to stain the tip of the silicone brush so now I prefer to use it with my clear balm to prevent this. Overall, it works I think I would prefer if they carried a silicone fingertip brush for better spread.

I got this with the AOU lip balm -- the quality of the product itself is great and the retractable mechanism is a cute concept however the silicon tip just doesn't spread the product evenly on my lips so I ended up not using it.Note on cleaning: I also have to clean the silicon tip after every use otherwise it just leaves a stain on the tip and the top of the opening every time.

The retractable design keeps it clean in your purse or makeup bag, and the silicone tip is surprisingly soft and flexible. It hugs the curves of your lips for precise application, and unlike some lip brushes, it won't soak up all your product. However, the silicone tip doesn't quite feel the same as a traditional brush, and it might not be the best choice for blending out harsh lines. For quick touch-ups or applying sheer lip tints, it's a winner, but for more precise lipstick application, I might stick to my regular lip brush.

I got this to replace the tiny little spatula/brush thing that came with my lip mask. I wanted something with a longer handle and that would stay more or less clean.This works perfectly for scraping out some product and spreading it on my lips. I like the retraction mechanism, and I get a kick out of the fact that, when closed, the brush resembles a cigarette.Anyway, the silicone end is easy to wipe off and disinfect. The end is open, so if it's in a purse there is still a possibility that fuzz can get onto the end, but the design means that you won't get gloopy lip product on the fabric inside your bag at least. For where it lives on my nightstand, the only problem I have with it is that it's perfectly cylindrical, so it can roll off onto the floor if I'm not careful.

I did not think a silicone brush would work but it does! I find this to really help even out whatever gloss I am using.

I ordered this so I can stop using my little pinky on my lips but I am not that satisfied with its effect when used on lipstick, pinky or the brush version is still better for me.
