So far, great!
Two weeks and a track day in, this item works great and allows for excellent in-cockpit footage. It appears solidly built and is easy to setup. Give yourself a few minutes to figure out how to properly set it up before you really need to use it.

Too weak so support a GoPro. Updated
I was incorrect in my review, you need to tighten up the center knob and then it stiffens up just fine.Works great!

Not that good.
Once attached to the head rest as it extends it’s only about 2 feet. I needed it to be about 3 to 4 feet long.

Poor grip strength
The single headrest stanchion mount is weak and wobbly. Camera tends to flop around. Not very secure. Replaced with unit that mounts to both sides of headrest.

It works fairly well.
It works great on smooth roads at lower speeds. Otherwise you'll have issues at highway speeds. A tube of blue loctite is very beneficial.

Pretty solid mount.
I've been using this style of mechanical arm for quite a while in my home machine shop. A good one costs around $100 and offers very easy, precise adjustment of various measuring tools. When I saw this camera mount on Amazon I thought it would be great for making videos. This kit comes with the mechanical arm, a go-pro mount, and a headrest mount. Both ends of the arm are threaded 1/4-20 which is fairly standard for camera mounts. When assembling things I noticed the threads are significantly undersized and don't fit very well into their female counterparts. A quick measurement confirmed this - both male threads are 0.014" under their nominal 1/4" size. On my Israeli-made mechanical arm the joints are all very smooth, and all 3 of them loosen up at the same time. This arm is not smooth. The end joints feel rough and unrefined when moving them. The middle joint has interlocking teeth that require you to loosen up the knob quite a bit. So the 2 end joints will be totally loose before the middle joint starts to move. When the knob is locked down all 3 joints are very solid. So it may take a bit of fiddling to get the camera adjusted correctly, but once it's set it should stay put. The headrest mount requires tightening 4 socket head screws so it can't be easily moved from one location to another. I don't have an actual go-pro so I can't comment on the function or fit of the go-pro mounting bracket. A regular camera fits okay onto the 1/4-20 threaded mount, with the aforementioned slop due to undersized threads. The arm itself is quite robust and should last a long time. Due to the poor tolerances and rough feel to the adjustments I'm putting this squarely into the average category.

Fun mount for great in-car shots
I like to do videos of me driving around the Colorado mountains in my old VW Westfalia campervan. This headrest mount gives me a great new option for attaching a camera for some unique shots. There's nothing special about any of the components, but put together, you get a nice complete package to attach a camera to your headrest. The "magic arm" is the run of the mill magic arm, but certainly more than capable for this particular task. It comes with a standard plastic GoPro adapter. The best part, for me anyway, is the clamp used on the headrest pole. I can see using this little clamp mount on many other places in addition to my headrest, such as the racks and baskets on my e-bike. I wish I could buy extras of just that little mount. That said, the mount is kind of a pain to install since you have four bolts that must be tightened, but not a big deal. Once those bolts are tightened, it's pretty rock solid. The magic arm has rubber on one side, but the other is smooth metal to mate with the rubberized section of the mount. Once all put together, it's pretty darn solid, especially if you're just attaching an action cam.I would suggest you choose your mounting location well, since it takes a bit of time to move it to a different post.
