Abbey Aluminium Multi-Purpose Ladder 3.4m with New Safety Platform MPL34

An excellent piece of kit - needed to replace a 30 year old step ladder and after a lot of looking on Amazon and elsewhere went for these. Very glad I did ! Sturdy, well made and very versatile. There are a few one and two star reviews saying they are hard to use- I would disagree: the locking levers simply lift to unlock and self lock in position as required. Somebody even says they cant worl out how to fit the "shelf" or the platform.. simple answer is to lool at the photos on the description - its very simple. All in all, great set of ladders and great customer service too , same day dispatch, free 2 day delivery. What's not to like?

Does everything I need it too.

After deciding to decorate the hall and landing purchased these steps to make life a little easier. Service from supplier was excellent, arrived two days earlier than stated with trackable order to ensure I did not miss the early delivery. The ladders seem well made and quite sturdy whichever of the many positions you decide to use, the work platform is very handy and with the aluminium plates across feel strong with only a small amount of flexing, the step shelf is a very good accessory which is normally an optional extra with other suppliers. They are a little awkward until you get used to the various positions available (make sure they are locked into position) but are excellent once you get the hang of it. I do agree with some reviews that they are a little cumbersome and not something you would want to get out every time you want to change a bulb but are superb for so many of the bigger jobs around the home and garden. Excellent value and good quality, but I would still keep a set of lightweight steps under the stairs for those quick 5 minute jobs.

Excellent multi-position ladder. Not very light but that goes with the territory. Everything, including the hinges, feels very solid and well made. It's really useful that the ladder included platforms and a tool tray - these are optional extras with almost every other similar ladder. Some people complain that the hinges are fiddly to use. I don't find this to be the case and wonder if those people failed to realise that the catches to release the hinges are spring loaded; you can disengage each one in turn and then move the hinge. Easy...

Very nice ladder, have been using it for a bit now. Used it to paint over the stairs, perfect for the job. Seems very well made and provides you with confidence when using it. It is a touch on the heavy side but that is to be expected.

Purchased these as I needed to do some jobs requiring transporting a ladder and didn't want to bother with a roof rack. They fit in my car easily with the seats down. They aren't too heavy and are fairly easy to adjust once you get the hang of it. I've found them to be very sturdy and have used them as a step ladder and a conventional ladder.

Great buy very pleased with it

Had my set now for a few months and have used them in all but one of the positions ( Stand Off ) . They are OK and by that I mean they do the job. I am not impressed by the amount of movement felt when using as a trestle, although the addition of the safety boards is good, many others charge them as an add on. The tool/work platform is useful, especially for holding that large pot of paint when working at height. So as I say OK, not as stable as some others I have used, not as expensive either, therein lies the answer I guess.
