Finally got this
It was worth the $25. I suppose you might be able to heat the old spring and take the temper out, but this spring is what I have been looking for. Regular pogo stick type seat shock absorbers do not work well, as they are used at an angle causing great friction on one side of the down tube. I am 210lbs and this spring is for a lighter person they say. I use it daily and the seat post is very useful and does not bottom out despite my weight being greater than the rating for this spring. If you are thinking about a softer ride, get this spring. Works even better when a nice cushy saddle is added.

Gets Expensive when you have to order the correct spring for your weight!
It would be nice if Suntour NCX would let you select spring needed when ordering suspension seat post. Like the NCX but becomes expensive when you have to order spring for your weight!!!

Just what I needed
I WEIGH JUST A TAD OVER 200LBS and the original spring in my suntour seatpost just did not seem to help...I got this one and it works great...once figuring out the proper setting it does not bottom out...my bottom and spine are very thankful

How does this work? No instructions. LARGE RESTOCKING FEE + return shipping fee!
Item arrived in good condition, but no explanation of how to use it. I assumed it went into the seat post, but the seat is firm to the post and couldn't possibly cushion anything, as the post itself is tightened to the bike frame this spring is useless. I looked at Suntour's web site, on Youtube, in product description and found no directions. I guess you just drop it in the seat post and pretend it works?OH by the way, this seller charges large return fees, had I known this I would NEVER have ordered from this vendor. "ALL RETURNS ARE SUBJECT TO AT LEAST 15% RESTOCKING FEE plus return shipping fee." I was going to return it (unopened) but think I'll just sell it on Craigslist so I don't lose money on this piece of junk, let it be someone else's pretend seat spring.

Good for light-weight bicyclists
This spring made my NCS suspension seat post more responsive for my weight.
