Q: Ibosad makes 2 models of this tool, the ht-1950 ($158) and the gc-1 ($108), both on amazon. what is the difference besides price?

I bought the ht-1950 because looking at each design and i think that the ht-1950 jaws will get around the fitting that is closer to a wall or outer piping. the gc-1 has a clamp that has to go around the back of the pipe and latch to the side of the tool.

Q: Why won’t the pressing jaw unlock.

It’s common to have the jaw dies to stick after pressing. I usually can get them free by jostling them but sometimes I have to use an arc joint pliers. If you’re working inside a wall put a towel to prevent losing the die!

Q: Will it crimp viega brass fittings?. Know it’s copper crimper

Yes this tool does crimp the brass Vega fittings such as ball valves and other fittings made to press onto copper pipe it worked just fine for me no damage

Why is the 1/2" die are too wide for the Viega fittings the hex crimp is not on the fitting? Is there a replacement die?
