90mm Fast Flow Easy Clean shower enclosure tray waste & chrome effect cap

I bought this as a generic replacement for the tray waste in our shower which had started to come apart anyway and then was eaten by our new rescue lurcher. It fitted fine and was great for the first 18 hours, after which the lurcher decided it was a lovely new treat. We got to it before she had done too much damage, so it still works, and it was so cheap I don't feel too gutted, plus I can easily get another one if we keep forgetting to shut the shower door despite the various notices about vicious drain eating lurchers on the loose.

I was looking to renew a worn chrome trap cover. I tried buying just the unit without the trap but it turned out it didn't fit.This item fits a lot better but still didn't fit. So I unscrewed the old chrome part and screwed the new one onto the old trap.Just beware that the screw is a different length fromy old one (new one is shorter) so be sure to swap the screws too..Overall I got the end result I wanted with a bonus of a spare shower trap. and at about half the cost of buying just a non fitting shower trap cover.

The fitting that screws in from the shower tray into the pipe was broken and I needed a new one. This did the job nicely. It's a good snug fit and now the leak has stopped.

I received an approximation of the item pictured. I needed 2 parts of the item pictured. Only one part I needed was in the box. Fortunately for me I managed to clean and re-use the old piece.Cheap as chips.Does the job ( sort of ).Not as pictured.

These traps do a good job, however hairs get trapped in the top part and the only way to clean them out is to unscrew a screw from inside disconnecting the silver top from the inner throat. This eventually leads to the plastic boss were the screw grips breaking and the whole unit needs replaced.

This is just another example of the waste in our society. The only part I needed to replace was the chrome trap lid etc - the rest of the shower trap was fine. It was cheaper to buy the entire trap than two buy a replacement lid.Can't fault the product or the seller in any way, but you have to ask if we will be able to solve the climate crisis with this type of issue.Don't get me started on the perfectly good shower cabinet that is just ten year sold but will need to be replaced because the failed door seal is no longer manufactured. More landfill!!Manufacturers really need to start looking at the longevity of providing parts and the economics of this.
