Good value quality video light
I needed a further occasional key/fill light for video work (mainly studio) . My main (key) light has been an Elegant Key light (very good, very bright - quite pricey). I grabbed this for several reasons; namely, decent past experience with Neewer products and CHEAP.Having now used it I can comment on the following:- Light quality - seems pretty good when lined up against the good Elegato. An important plus- Cheap. Yes but quite decently put together.- Runs from a mains adapter or a Sony battery (not supplied but I have both so didn't really need / want these)- Easy dimmability.- Runs quite cool- Overall, I'm very happy with it.A few points to think about:- No power included in this pack. If you need this you will have to buy additionally or buy the set that includes it. I was happy to not pay for stuff I had already.- Direct lighting use its small and the light (even with diffuser) is quite harsh. I don't think the makes for use alone as a key/fill light that good. However, with a soft box arrangement or (as I do) bouncing the light (e.g. wall & ceiling) it softens up and goes a far more useful illumination source. Nothing really to do with this unit, simply a 'good lighting practice' thing. Just be a ware of its limitation.- It is a single colour (5600 K with a dimmer). The advertised 3400K comes with the use of a clip on filter and not by an adjustable LED mix dial. Its not an issue at this price point but be aware. As noted above the 5600 K seems to be good quality and that's likely what you are after.

Great improvement in CN160 light from Neewer
About 5 years ago I bought the predecessor to this PT176 light (CN160) and have used it quite a lot. When I read about an update to that light I decided to try one. What a difference 5 years has made. The PT760 is not only brighter with 176 instead of 160 LEDs, it is cheaper, lighter and more compact. I always found the CN160 a little clumsy due mainly to its size to accommodate AA batteries which I never used as they don't last too long. This light takes only the Sony type camera batteries and is a much neater arrangement - I use the largest of these, the NP- F960 with 6600mAh capacity which seems to last forever and is not too expensive if you shop around online. The light has been completely re engineered and the other real improvement is that the plastic bracket was a weak point at its narrowest point and had to be repaired/modified by me virtually the first time I used the light. The new arrangement is much better and has a 1/4 inch thread inset into the base of the light which means you can use the bracket which comes with the light or any ball and socket mount you have lying around. As an engineer I can see that whoever designed the PT- 176 has thought about it and probably even used it - something I wonder about many other products! All in all a great improvement on the previous model and at a lower price excellent value especially compared to some lights which can cost ten times as much.

Very good for the money
Love this. I’m a novice with vlogging but I really needed this as in Scotland is quite dark nowadays and very hard to be able to film anything indoors without some additional light :). Does the job and I like that it comes with another shade of plastic to replace with the white one. In case you want some warmer lighting you will be covered.Another thing I like is that it comes with it’s a small adaptor underneath that can be attached to a tripod.. don’t know how it is officially called.I really like this product and it creates really bright light! However you can still adjust it as at the back it has a little wheel you can turn to get a less intensive light .You will need to get batteries though and an adaptor to charge those batteries as it doesn’t come with them. They aren’t expensive. I looked at the section in which amazon shows you what people usually buy this product along with. However, Brilliant. I am so happy I bought this! I use it every time I filmThanks

Lasted Less Than Ten Minutes
Having charged the battery for twelve hours and then used the light for ten minutes, it completely ran out of power. It was not even used for ten minutes continuously, it was turned on three times and used for no longer than two minutes each time. The light was immediately returned to the seller along with the batteries and charger which were bought seperately.
