Good Value for the Price!
The Amazon Basics 8-Pack Rechargeable AA Batteries are a solid choice for the price. They hold a decent charge, and I love that they’re pre-charged and ready to use. My only issue is that the batteries do take a bit longer to recharge compared to some other brands. However, considering the price point, they’re still a great option for everyday use. Definitely recommend them!

Good batteries at excellent price
Like many people I tend to use a lot of AA and AAA batteries. I've tried various manufacturers of rechargeable batteries, but read an independent review that praised these Amazon Basics batteries. I tried some and have been impressed. They seem to last well, and are usable straight out of the box, although with a slightly lower life before requiring a recharge. In fact my understanding is that often these batteries need several recharges before reaching full capacity (just what I've heard, can't confirm). According to my 'smart charger' they are full at 1.48v so almost the same as 1.5v alkaline batteries.I did have one that wouldn't automatically recharge. Normally people throw them away when that happens, however there are several internet videos that show you how to 'kick start' the battery so that it will recharge. I've used the technique on several occasions (for various makes of battery) and it works a treat. From having a seemingly 'dead' battery it recovers to become a fully usable battery again so don't chuck those apparently duff batteries away. Amazon don't like URLs in reviews so you'll have to look it up yourself.

Not to be trusted (2)
Further to my review yesterday titled 'not to be trusted' suggesting the batteries were faulty was not a fair one.Yesterday I had a further 2 batteries which were 'dead' and my 'intelligent' charger status was null so I was beginning think that something wasn't quite right so I put then in a 'not so clever charger' for a short while and they have come back to life.I'm still not sure how 2 of 4 batteries could be 'dead' and the security light still working and why there was such a discrepancy of charge when all the batteries were charged at the same time.My conclusion is that the jury is still out on 'not to be trusted' until I can be confident we are not going to be left in the dark when most needed but for most purposes where usage is monitored my now initial impression is that they represent very good value for money.

Long lasting and reliable.
Good quality batteries, longer lasting that most standard alkaline batteries. Great for torches and toys ect. Of course being Nickel–cadmium the output voltage is limited to 1.2volt so May not be suitable for some electronic equipment. (If you need the full 1.5volt opt for Lithium Iron batteries)

AA Rechargeable batteries
Early days but seem ok as a replacement for my old Duracell ones which lasted a good 7 years, they were 2500 mAh but I don't really need high-capacity ones, and these are 2000 mAh and can be recharged 1000 times rather than 500 for the high-capacity ones and should recharge back up quicker. They came charged but not fully charged which can be a good thing as they keep better that way, so I recommend charging first and may need a few drain-recharge cycles to get them to tip top condition. Out of the box reading was 1.29, charged and rested for 24 hours shows a reading of 1.34 and holding.

Better value elsewhere
OK to a point, but value suspect. These do not last as long as others.
