We have an escape artist dog that somehow always manages to get off of other leads. This one put a stop to that with the screw on safety latch. I haven't had to chase her down the street (because she got off the lead) ever since I bought it. They only last so long with any brand but when it's time to replace it again, I'll definitely be repurchasing this brand.

We live in a rural area. Our property is a mix of lawn, woods, and thick brush overgrowth. We have a rescue who is a runner. Had him on a long, thick cable that connected to the ground stake with a normal carabiner. It somehow comes off. The first time, our dog was just a little farther away than normal. The next time, it was nighttime and he took off into the brush dragging the cable. He wasn’t off property, so his gps tracker didn’t go off. He got tangled up and knew he wasn’t supposed to be where he was, so he was silent as a church mouse. Took us forever to find him using Bluetooth. We managed to get him unhooked and out, but the cable was a lost cause. Needed a new one and it needed to be more secure. I have those thin tie out cables that you get at the pet store for camping. I knew I wanted something thicker like the lost cable. This is fantastic. It is secure on the ground end. Pretty quick and easy to unscrew and release the carabiner from his collar. Might be more difficult in the winter when it is cold an$ we are wearing gloves. The cable is nice and thick. Wrapped with plastic covering, so as long as my husband doesn’t hit it with the lawn mower, should last a long while. Happy with the 50ft length.

I have two young, energetic Labs who are each around 50-60lbs. I've had a couple different cables before these (I bought 2) and I wish I had found this cable earlier. Since my dogs aren't that large I previously purchased cables for a dog anywhere from 50-100lbs figuring that is all they need. That was mistake number one. Those cables are skinnier and kink much easier, which eventually causes the plastic exterior on the cable to break, the metal to be exposed and rust sets in. These cables are much thicker, resist kinking and so far have held up great.Second mistake I made with my old cables is trusting the conventional leash style clasp. Over time they get tired. I've had them completely break as well as grow weak over time which my dogs have been able to wriggle out of. Thankfully they are smart buggers and always come back. This cable has a carabiner style with a locking clasp. The lock seems to work pretty well although sometimes it does release but since the clasp opens inward they have not been able to get off the line. The clasp is also pretty heavy duty which gives me peace of mind.Bottom line so far these seem like solid cables that I would recommend for any size dog. Very happy with them. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was I've only had them for a couple weeks and I'm waiting to see if something breaks. As long as nothing breaks, I will update to 5 stars.

I got this for my 1year old pit mix. He had broke the last 2 leads we bought. This one was rated for a higher weight and the cable is nice and thick. I would anticipate this lasting a while thankfully.

The buckle is trash. Only held up for 2 weeks of use that a 74lb Belgium malinois that only goes on a few times a day for very short amount of time.

Very good quality. I love that the hooks have a safety lock. I've used this item for a few years.
