Great cajon....you won't be sorry if you go with this!
This was a Christmas gift for our 4 yr old grandson. He loves it. I teach band and we have lots of musicians in our family. The LP quality of this Cajon is great. It's very well made, looks really nice and sounds so good!

Man! I love a bargain!
I've been thinking about a cajón for about a year and was getting ready to pull the trigger when I came across this Aspire as a warehouse deal. I trust the Latin Percussion name and the reviews leaned positive so, BOOM! I ordered the open, shipping damaged box for the ridiculously low price of $57. The box indeed was pretty beat up and it was with some trepidation that I opened it to look over the cajón. At first it looked perfect. All seams tight and no obvious major damage. Not even a scratch and then I saw it. A small dent about as big around as a pea and about as deep as a dime, maybe an eighth of an inch but not at all structural so I decided given the price it was a keeper.I'm new to cajón but not to drums, conga, 'cello, piano and guitar so my comments come from that perspective. Tonally it's very balanced; nothing is too much. Not to boomy, not too thin, not too loud or soft for general hobby and amateur playing. There are 3 full sets of snare wires so the snare rattle is quite present. If you're looking for a subtle or adjustable snare sound, look for another drum.I don't know if other cajóns have this but across the back near the sound hole there's a bar that runs across just above the sound hole. It may be a brace, I don't know but it's nicely rounded and provides a great grip when you reach in the hole to lift the cajón and tuck it back into it's corner when you're done playing. Workmanship inside is clean. Glue joints are even and no gloppy spills or drips of glue. There's a coat of sealer over everything to lessen the effects of high humidity. Well done but that's kind of what I mean when I say I trust LP for quality and workmanship. It's worth consideration at $149. At $57+tax it's hit Buy Now and count your blessings.

Fantastic sound.
Fantastic sounds coming from this cajon! I also own a Mario Cortes model that cost significantly more. This has better sound and range. Buy it!

Good product and great support!
The original Cajon, when received, was in great shape. However, there was no snare sound. I called both the seller (GO-DPS) and the manufacturer Latin Percussion(LP)about this problem. The manufacturer never responded and initially, neither did GO- DPS. Finally, Jeremy, Customer Service Manager from GO-DPS, not only responded to my emails, he also called me. After apologizing for my inconvenience, Jeremy gave me the choice of receiving my money back, or replacing the original item with a new one. I decided to receive a new product. Jeremy sent a new one immediately, even though I still had the original one still in my possession. He also sent me a pre-paid return label. The end-result...a Cajon that works well and a happy customer! Thanks Jeremy at GO-DPS!

Buzzing snares
Well-made product for the money but CANNOT get the snare to stop buzzing. Sound like crap. No amount of loosening or tightening screws helps, nor does using masking tape on the snare wires. A boomy BIZZZ sound, mainly. Disappointed in LP here...

Three Stars
It is more of a snare than I expected.

As good as it gets at this price
I've owned this for four years, I've used it both for live jams and on home recordings. I am *not* a drummer or percussionist, just a solo guy who's tired of programmed drums.I have heard better sounding Cajons, but not in this price range. If you just want a cheap instrument to learn on or have fun with, this one is a winner. Spend some time playing with the screws on the front panel and see if you can get a better tone, I found that it paid off. It's surely a durable instrument, it's held my 250lb carcass for the last 4 years.
