Have had these two guys for over a year. I am happy with my purchase, the weed whacker does great, plenty of power to slash the stubborn weeds to pieces. Battery life is great. I can do my yard with the trimmer and swap the battery to the little blower to clean the bits of weeds off myself and cleans up the yard and sidewalks with ease. Could it be stronger sure but it does great for its size and generally saves me from having to get the big one from the shed. Great value for the money spent. Two great additions to my tool collection. Easy to use and to respool. Not heavy and is adjustable and well balanced. Glad I dont have to lug a cord around my giant yard either. Also dont have to fight my pain in the rear gas powered unit either. Yeah it still has its place but battery power saves my shoulder a lot of hassle. Also fits my tool rack with battery in either tool.

This set is great for a small or medium sized yard. The trimmer is very powerful and cuts well. The blower is a broom type so it’s not going to move piles of leaves but works fine on removing grass and debris from driveway and sidewalk. I bought an extra battery but so far I’ve been able to get the job done on one charge.

First, I'm just a customer, and am not being paid for my review.I was looking for an inexpensive option for a string trimmer, after my gas trimmer died after one season of use. Didn't want to put a lot of money into a trimmer, but wanted something that would hopefully be reliable and last for a few seasons.Purchased this B&D Combo Set on Black Friday. Items appeared to be well packaged. Battery had life out of the box, but didn't show any bars on the charge indicator. Charged the battery with no issues. Charge indicator showed three bars (100%) after charge.Blower seemed to work fine, and appears to work great for blowing grass and debris off of sidewalks and driveways. I even attempted to blow leaves off of the lawn, and the blower worked better than expected; not perfect, but I expected worse based upon the reviews. Initially, used for around five minutes; charge indicator after use still showed three bars.Handle and grass guard assembly for the trimmer was simple and fast. Used for roughly five minutes and appeared to work fine. My only issue, was that I would have liked the trimmer to be slightly longer for me I'm of average height). I had the trimmer fully extended, and still found that using the item was slightly awkward. I have approximately 1/3 of an acre, so it will be fine for the 15 to 20 minutes session that I have to use it. Battery still showed three bars after use (of both items).For now, I'd recommend the B&D string trimmer and blower combo set as an inexpensive option for a small yard. I will consider purchasing a second battery at some point in the future, but for now, I'm looking for a trimmer that will get me through the next two to three years. I can't give these five stars after using both for such a short time, but I've got nothing bad to say about either.

This has been one of my favorite purchases from Amazon. I already had a Black & Decker cordless lawn mower that uses the same 40 volt battery, so I was pretty confident that these tools would perform well since they use the same battery. I have not been disappointed! Even if they were only average, this multipack is an incredible value for 2 cordless power tools, the battery, and the charging stand - take a look at the individual costs! And they do perform very well. They also have a good feel or heft to them, lightweight but not cheap feeling.This is my first cordless trimmer / edger and I was more than satisfied with the available power. The trigger switch does allow you to rev the power up faster if you get into something tough, but I found it cut through tall grass and weeds easily and edged along my sidewalks and curb neatly. And I love not being tethered to a power cord! I have a smallish front yard but I was able to trim along the foundation of the house, along the driveway, all sidewalks and curb and still had over half the charge on the battery. I have arthritis and have had back problems recently so I was happy that even with the battery installed, the trimmer is easy to manage, not too heavy and easy to hold at the proper angle. Attaching the shield and handle after unpacking were easy, by the way. And a reel of trimmer line is included with the purchase too.Switching the battery pack to the blower then I am able to clean up clippings and debris from along the curb, driveway, and sidewalks again before the initial charge on the battery pack is depleted. This is a light-duty blower , very easy to handle and the shape provides a good angle for cleaning up clippings and light debris from hard surfaces. Compared to sweeping with a broom it is a great time (and body) saver - perfect for quick cleanup! It is not a heavy duty blower , it will not blow large heavy wet leaves around your yard, but perfect for sweeping up.I get at least 20 minutes steady use from one full battery charge. Charging time is pretty quick, less than an hour but I usually leave the battery on the charger for several hours just like with a cell phone, to give it a good charge. Because my lawn mower came with two 40 volt batteries I am able to get all three batteries charged up mow my entire yard, trim and use the blower all at once if I like. I like that Black and Decker has an entire line of outdoor cordless tools that use the same battery, and will probably buy more. But even using one single battery it is possible to trim an entire yard in one afternoon even allowing time to recharge the battery while you have lunch and maybe a nap 😊
