This thing works great!
This little device works great! I make my own bread so that I can reduce the sodium and it has always been a struggle to slice my bread evenly. I tend to turn my wrist somehow and the loaf ends up at an angle. I also like thin slices for sandwiches and that is almost impossible when you cut it yourself. However, after I got this little device everything changed! You can cut quickly and evenly every time! I wish I had known about this thing before now. I was originally looking for a whole loaf type of slicer where all the pins indicate where to cut the bread. But I don’t really like to cut my bread ahead because I feel it dries out quicker that way. So, I decided that what I really wanted was something easy and quick for cutting ONE slice at a time. This thing is perfect!…the only thing that would make it even better is if they would make it in a metal material instead of the plastic. But I must say, this is not a flimsy plastic, it is hard and plenty good for the job. With the prices being so low you can replace it if it breaks (somehow?) without dropping a fortune. The other nice thing about this slicer device is that you can choose what thickness you would like your bread to be. I like mine very thin most times so the first setting is great at just less than 1/2”. That setting is perfect for me! If you want a thicker slice there are three other settings. Your bread can also be taller than mine and still work well…it can be up to 6-1/8 tall and up to 4-3/4 wide. It really does work well and for the cost it’s a real bargain if you need a bread device to manage how think your slices of bread will be.

Two narrow for my bread machine
I have one from Macy that produces bread 5 inches wide. Although the dimension of this gadget seems to be enough, it was the outside dimension. The inside wide is 1/4 inch short of 5 inches. This is the 2nd similar one that I tried. They have to be space-efficient and easy to wash and dry. My last one is everything like that except that the guides in the middle are flexible. I was like in a samurai training school whenever I use it. I can make perfect slices if I don't twist the knife. It is just a visual guide, not guiding the knife. So this one seems to be perfect. There's only one slot for the knife and the plastic is all rigid. Although my bread knife wasn't sharpened very often, The knife just didn't make any marks on my last plastic slicer. The plastic is similar to this one.

Just as good as the more expensive models
Must put this device against something solid, so it does not move as you use it. It does a reasonable job; as good as the much more expensive models. There is a little plastic dust because of the cutting, but that's not an issue. The place to put the knife into the device is tight, so it takes a little manipulation...but it's still very easy to use. Each slice must be removed before the next slice can be cut. It's sturdy enough and a much better buy than the bamboo guides.

Not wide enough for bread machine loaves.
This slicer was about 1/4" too narrow for loaves made in an Oster bread machine. Since I can't use it and it wasn't worth returning, I have donated it to a Goodwill store.

Dirty outbid the box
Not sure why but certain areas of the plastic was already dirty when it came out of the box. I had to scrub it pretty hard to get the stains out before using. Otherwise, it was enough to use and store
