Exactly what I was looking for
The lock on my Craftsman tool box broke and came out of the tool box, I grabbed this lock hoping it would be a suitable replacement..... and I was not wrong. This is exactly what I was looking for, and it came with 2 different "arms" to go into different fits.

I had to reuse my old tabs and bolt them onto these locks.
Why did you pick this product vs others?:These locks work as expected. I can remove the keys whether the locks are open or closed. None of the included tabs fit my toolboxes. I used a dremel to remove the rivet holding the old tabs on the old locks and reused the old tabs. This is likely to be required for any lock replacement. A universal lock with a bolted on tab is likely to have a different tab from the original latching tab. As the tab is bolted onto these locks changing to your old tabs is a simple changeover. Do not buy locks with riveted on tabs unless you know for certain the tab will work on your box. I returned a set of locks just because the tabs were riveted on and the tabs did not work for any of my toolboxes. The key does look a lot like a lawnmower key with less aggressive teeth. However, it locks and no one looking at your installed lock can tell the difference. No lock of this type can keep a decent thief from opening it.Ease of installation: The included nut has a very fine thread just like the original locks do. These locks fit into the original hole as well as the original locks did. One toolbox had a sliding latch that opens sideways with the lock in the moving part. Installing a lock there was very annoying as the tab kept preventing the nut from engaging the threads. There was no way to put the tab on after mounting the lock so several minutes of frustration followed. Once the nut finally threaded onto the lock installation was straight forward. That lock required the tab to be installed before installing the lock as there was no room to install the tab after installation. Yes, I made sure the lock was in the correct orientation before installing it.The mounting tab when installed makes aligning the nut exceptionally difficult. This is a universal problem all locks of this type have. It is not unique to this lock. The other tool boxes had a hole in the side of the toolbox the lock went into instead of mounting onto a moving handle. Once again the tab made installing the lock problematic. After removing the bolt holding the tab on and the tab the nut quickly threaded onto the lock. I Installed the tab and bolt on one box, found out I installed the lock 90 degrees off so I had to reinstall the lock correctly. Installing the locking tab after installing the lock cylinder not before made the job go easily. I wanted each lock to be straight up and down when locked and sideways when open so a quick look would verify if the locks are open or closed. That was easy to do. Removing the tab to make it line up correctly so the box would lock by adjusting it 90 degrees was easy. One toolbox lid closes where the lock is open or locked. One toolbox will not allow the lid to be shut unless the key is in the open position. That is the design of the locking mechanism of the toolbox itself not a problem with these locks design. The description says the locks are waterproof. I wish the lock had the same kind of insert car doors have to close the locks key opening. In the short time I have had them these locks have worked correctly.

Keys won't come out when locked (key retaining locks) - NOT what is advertised
The locks that are advertised are what is called "non-key retaining" cam locks, which means, you turn the key to lock it and the key comes out, so you can "use one key on multiple locks" as advertised. What comes in the package are 5 "key retaining" locks, which means when you lock it, the key WON'T COME OUT, until you unlock it. This kind of lock is good for paper towel dispensers so you unlock, do what you need to and lock it right back without the key falling out). But if you are using these, AS ADVERTISED, to have multiple locks with one key, like for a bunch of toolboxes, these keys will NOT work. Do not order this unless you want the key stuck in the lock every time you unlock it. #goodgrief
