What is it made of and how easily does it scratch?

Hello, Linda. Our kayaks are made from lexan which is the highest quality polycarbonate available. To avoid scratching, we advise that you do not drag the kayak on the beach or surfaces and that you lift them. We also advise that you rinse them out after use to avoid sediment, salt water and sand to build up which could also cause scratching. However, if scratching does occur...once the kayak hits the water, the water fills in the scratches and they are no longer visible.

Does this kayak fill up with water in moderate waves?

No. The high sides of this canoe-kayak hybrid make it great for moderately choppy waters. You can see in our Bimini video that certain scenes show a nice chop to the water and we had no issues of waves swamping. However over the course of normal paddling a small amount of water will begin to collect in the bottom as your paddle enters an exits the water so we recommend bringing along something to bail out he water occasionally. A plastic milk-jug cut in half will work fine or if you wait a few months you can purchase a silicone bailer that we're designing now.

What is the maximum weight limitation, please?

The Kayak can hold up to 485 lbs. It is 11'1 " long and weighs only 47 lbs to carry. The design gives you stability, while keeping the kayak Light Weight and easy to transport. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Would like a clear kayak for 2 adults and 1 child?

The kayaks have a weight capacity of 425lbs, you could safely and easily paddle with 2 adults and 1 child as long as the weight was under that amount.
