Excellant for picking up cryptic animals and birds at short distances.
I got this for finding Jack Snipe in short vegetation usually at 2 to 5 metres where it works really well. Also picks up Common Snipe at 100m in the dark before sunrise. Don't expect to be able to identify what you see though through it though, except by behaviour. A Fox is readily identifiable by its shape at 100m. What it can't do is see through vegetation so don't expect it to. The digital zoom is pretty useless above x2, I just use it a x1 and don't use the record feature at all. The best display setting for me is the Red Hot which makes Jack Snipe obvious over the distances I use it.

Good product better than the popular branded entry level that’s currently available!Don’t be fooled by the name Hikmicro this is a fantastic bit of kit for the money.
