Awesome
I bought these for my son and have told family and friends how much I like my Makita tools. I've never, literally never had a problem with any of them.

Great buy!
I've always bought Makita but I can't remember what really sparked that kind of loyalty. Sure they are good quality and can do the job but I guess it was the value for money. And this kit gives excellent value for money. I got the 4ah batteries and they are a beast. The driver seems to be able drive anything and the hammer drill goes through concrete as well or even better than my corded Makita hammer. I wish it could come with the tool bag option too. Just because I feel that you could probably get more bits and extra things that a person might want to keep close to a drill. However the hard case seems to be plenty good to protect the tools. My case was not the case with extra storage compartment on the top (like Vince on VCG construction reviewed) but even so I was able to fit a box of bits on top of the driver handle itself and the case still closed without a problem. That box prevents the driver from shifting so that's good. I'm not a professional so I don't think these will get a lot of heavy action but the day I need to do something heavy I know I don't have to worry. The 5ah hour version of this kit dropped in price a few weeks after I bought mine but that's life. In any case the 4ah gives me plenty of power. I think that in these types of kits, Makita could really throw in a bit holder or something like that as they only cost $3 on Amazon, and then the DIYers can basically use it right out of the box. In all though I'm really happy with this purchase. Makes me think that I will go cordless in the future.

Long life......
I purchased the XPS-60 driver set for work. Price was right and worked better than expected. I love the fact that the batteries can be recharged in about 15-20 minutes. I have purchased many other brands that didn;t perform as the way this set does. The driver seems to be able drive anything and the hammer drill goes through concrete as well as my $500 Hilti. I use the impact driver more than I thought I would.

Honestly works perfectly and just amazing. Speed isn’t too fast and charging is quick and weight isn’t heavy and very easy

Replaced my DeWalts and love these so far
I recently got this Makita set to replace an older DeWalt drill and impact driver that use their obsolete 18v battery system. I was pretty burned that I had to ditch these old reliables because they stopped offering the lighter Lithium Ion 18v packs and converting/upgrading to their 20v system was prohibitively expensive for the return. With the amount of money I would have had to spend, I thought I would try another brand that might not change the goal posts down the line.I opted for this set because it came with larger 4Ah batteries and in general the makita system has larger packs at a better price if I needed more in the future. The impact driver feels about the same, though I think the max torque is higher than my old one. What really blew me away though, was the drill driver. It's got to be like 500% better than my old dewalt, and was drilling out holes in seconds that would take the dewalt half a minute or more. On wood at least it just buzzes right through anything.Overall I'm happy with both so far, but if I had known how comparatively weak my old drill was, I would have upgraded it years ago. I can't imagine all the time that would have saved me.

Made in china - noisy - gearing is rough
They are very well balanced and feel strong. The ergonomics is excellent and the battery is of high capacity. In usage, they are very nice. With the 4Ah batter on, the drill is heavy but still well balanced. The center of weight falls right on the hand. The tool bag is useless. It is way too small and cannot accommodate the whole set of tools, batteries and changer. Both the drill and driver are very loud (compared with my old Hilti) in use and the gearing feels very rough especially the electric break In comparison with my old Hilti. They are of great value but I don’t know about it’s reliability yet.I tested it with a large 1” spade and put holes in thick pieces of hardwood from my firewood pile. Without the side handle, it was not too easy to handle the high torque. The transmission worked just fine. No sign of it jumping to the hammer mode as some had reported. The chuck is of low quality but with reasonable run out. I will change it out with an all metal chuck.I do hate that they are made in china.
