Q: Is this made of cotton or polyester?

It's a slick polyester. It's much less pleasant than the cotton ones they replaced on our Smith+Noble shades. I'm now looking for cottony ones

Q: is this strong enough for wood slatted blinds

This 2.7mm size loop is not made for wood blinds. Here is a helpful but not exact tool. With a number 2 pencil wrap the cord around 4 times. Push the cord together tight. And this should measure 1/2" when using unworn cord.

Q: How do you replace cord ?

it can be slightly complicated. my louvered blinds had a combination of two wheels that I had to weave the cord thru to allow it to be pulled from either angle. not sure what you are dealing with so it's a tough question to answer....except the standard....google it!

Q: Can the cord be cut to make custom size? If yes, do you glue or melt the ends together?

Not recommended. They can ordered in different lengths so order the exact length you need.
