Home assistant support for deCONZ
This product works well on home assistant, it is quite easy to add it to deCONZ by Dresden Elektronik. It allows for detection of smoke in home assistant and trigger the alarm as well as including temperature sensor, battery status. Overall the product works quite well, time will tell on battery life.

Works with Home Assistant ZHA, small size
Worked with Home Assistant via ZHA without issue. Was also able to manually trigger the alarm via switch entity, so this could theoretically be used in automations for other purposes. The fire alarm is very small, which is nice. Mounted it on plasterboard of a stud wall with supplied fittings using a regular screwdriver pretty easily. I'm assuming it works correctly when smoke is detected, and I hope I never find out for sure!

Works good
Installed on HomeAssistant with a Sonoff Zigbee dongle via ZHA and it works great. Not much to say really.

Great smoke alarm
I've been using the frient Intelligent Smoke Alarm for several months now, and it's been a valuable addition to my smart home setup.Pros:Compact Design: The alarm is small and unobtrusive, measuring just 65mm in diameter and 40mm in height, which makes it blend seamlessly into any room without being an eyesore.Easy Integration: It connected effortlessly to my SmartThings hub, and I appreciate the immediate notifications sent to my phone in case of smoke detection.Multi-Functionality: Beyond smoke detection, it also monitors temperature and functions as a siren, providing a comprehensive safety solution in a single device.Battery Life: The device boasts a 3-year battery life, reducing the frequency of maintenance

Does not detect smoke
This seemed to be a good product, it was packaged nicely, looked good, easy to install and the zigbee connection setup is straight forward. As this is a device for safety I tested it with a smoke match and nothing happened at first until I held one right next to it and even then it took ages at this point the room was full of smoke! My old smoke alarm only needed a small amount to trigger it and was less than a third of the price. So I will stick with my cheap smoke alarm until I find a suitable one to replace them but it won’t be this one. I would suggest anyone who has one or buys one tests it with a smoke match not the test button.

Easy to install and stays connected
I have two of these smoke detectors, one in my workshop and the other in our washroom. I use a Hubitat hub for my ZigBee mesh and both detectors have maintained a solid reliable connection ever since they were installed. Having a solid mesh is vital though and I have mains powered ZigBee devices which are also mesh repeaters so that helps create a strong mesh. I also made sure that there was no clashing with WIFI networks, I have three of those in our home.Using my Home Assistant Hubitat integration I use the built in temperature sensor to trigger a high temperature alarm in our washroom. We have a tumble drier and these kick out quite a lot of heat at the best of times so this is a very useful alarm.Battery life is very good and still at 100% after nearly 6 months of continuous operation. These are very small compact devices and take up a lot less room than other similar devices, useful if you have a limited amount of space for mounting.I grouped my detectors in home assistant and that enables me to use visual (phillips hue lighting and dashboard icon) and audible alerts (ring camera sirens) if any one of them detects smoke.I will certainly be buying more of these as and when I can afford too.

Button on front does not trigger sensor automations
I bought two of these frient smoke detectors, to integrate with Home Assistant using ZHA. The pairing is easily done, but like some other devices (particularly frient devices in my experience) it can take more than 24 hours before Home Assistant picks up all of the available entities for automation. Once those are available, automation is done like anything else in Home Assistant. I have automations based on smoke, device offline, and low battery detection. I do not experience (so far) the disconnects that some other reviewers have mentioned. When testing the smoke alarm using the button on the front, the siren goes off, but sensor entities do not get triggered, so automations using the sensor entities will not do anything. That is a real oversight. Instead, it’s necessary to buy some fake smoke to test them properly (for the frient heat detector I had to use a hair dryer to test automations properly). Other than that, these seem fine, if expensive.

Just trusting it's working!
It's a smoke alarm. Hopefully I'll never need to know if it's working as it should but should that situation arise I do hope it does! None the less, if you're here it's probably because this bad boy is a zigbee smoke alarm and you're wondering if it will work with an eco system you've already got.Well it does.Screwed in the base plate, twisted in the module, paired it up on home assistant (running Zigbee2MQTT) and it appeared right away. The detector is small and fits in an average palm, has a test button on the unit which can be held to send a test signal through the network so trigger those notifications if you need that. The detector reports a few states (in pic) which is great and has an internal thermometer which you can report in HA or similar. The siren is loud and annoying, which is ideal considering its purpose.
