Love this book..its up to date on information,Excellent pictures,and care information..I only have Bettas as pets and this book stresses over and over to not keep a Betta in a small container..if you do youl have to change the water daily..im now waiting for my 5gallon tank to come.this is a great book..

As far as fish books go, this is good one on these lovely fish. Though, I enjoyed reading this book, I personally didn't learn anything new about Bettas. However, if you're new to this fish species, I do recommend you read it and heed it's advice. Bettas are great fish and deserve more than a cup or bowl to live a thriving life. This book is proof. It was nice to see that in print. I've had three male Bettas to date and never had any regrets over owning one. I've had one in each of my community tanks. They're great community fish as long as you keep fin nippers away and have the same size fish with them. Also, keep just one male per tank. I personally advise adding a Betta last to your tank in a community fish tank. Otherwise there should be no problems. Bettas have a personality all their own.

If you want to learn the basics of a betta fish then order this book. The colorful pictures are excellent. You can skip around the book and read what you need to know. I learned a lot about my betta fish from this book. My betta fish was sick and had a bloating illness which this book had some good information.

I am very satisfied with this purchase.This book has a lot of colorful pics.,great information on everything related to their care and well being, plus extra useful information that I didn't know before.You won't be dissappointed if you decide to buy this book.I am enjoying it very much and you will too!

It focuses mainly on breeding bettas and how to keep them in bowls. Was hoping for more helpful tips on how to help bettas thrive. Not a bad book overall but just not what I was hoping for.

I purchased this for my veterinarian daughter who recently acquired a Betta. She had already accumulated a number of betta books and declared that this one was superior to the others. She’s very up front and wouldn’t state this opinion to make me feel good. If you have a betta, buy this!
