Brilliant Modem Router - used instead of Sky router for fibre broadband
This VDSL/ADSL Modem router is simply amazing.I have used the simple term "router" to refer to this and competitor/alternative products.I was at the point of adding a NAS to my network and needing switching to fibre broadband when I found out that the Sky router offered had a very limited number of ethernet ports - certainly less than the older one it was meant to be replacing. Additionally, I read reviews commenting on the poor range they were getting from their new Sky fibre broadband router. I therefore decided to do some research.I was somewhat put off by the relatively high price for this router but having read the reviews struggled to ignore them. What buyer's remorse was to be had was very short lived. The router came very well packaged and exudes class and quality.Setting up the router was dead easy and even setting it up for Sky (instead of the replacement router they sent me) was straightforward requiring no 3rd party software anywhere in the process. TP-link have all the necessary info on their website for this. I set up my 2GHz wireless network, my 5Gz network and importantly, a guest network for when friends and family visit and I don't want them leaving with my key network passwords in their mobile phones. The router has worked flawlessly, supporting all my usual audio-visual smart equipment, mobile phones, laptops, printers and anything else we have thrown at it. It has excellent range and I pick up a good clear signal wherever I am in the house and indeed out in the garden.I am no IT geek so not able to go into any detail about any of the advanced features or aspects that could drive the score to less than 5 stars. What I can say though is that I have had no issues with this router - and yes, it's very fast! Very highly recommended!

Works like a dream
After getting totally fed up with BT and their so called smart hub i changes to a smart hub 6 and have gone through 5 of these and still was having issues with unstable connections, poor speeds and terrible WiFi range in the house. Before kicking BT into touch (as i have a cracking price for infinity 2 and BT Sport) i thought i would try a different router.First off i tried a Netgear one and this was just as hopeless as the BT one freezing constantly and loosing connection that one went back and i decided to did deep into my pockets and go for the TP link Archer. Honestly i thought it was a bit pricey but you do get what you pay for. It was easy enough to set up and it just works, no more dropped connections no loosing signal it is rock solid stable and i am getting download and upload speeds i haven't seen for years. I have a really strong signal in every room in my house and well into the garden. It copes with the internet traffic seamlessly i have loads of connected devices and there are at least 20 connected at anyone time.Overall i would say I wish i had found this sooner its a brilliant piece of kit even if it is a little bit on the pricey side

TP-Link Archer VX1800v – Easy Setup, Solid Performance, Limited Parental Controls
I recently purchased the TP-Link Archer VX1800v, and my experience from unboxing to setup has been smooth and straightforward. The box arrived in perfect condition, and the device was indeed brand new and unused. Setup was as easy as advertised: I simply connected it to a power source, plugged the DSL cable from the device to my BT socket, powered it on, and logged in via my laptop. The initial setup wizard was intuitive. I entered my BT email address (no password required), and within minutes, the connection was live. I also explored some of the router's additional features, notably turning off the mesh function as I don’t have any other wireless routers in the house, and enabling band steering, which consolidated my Wi-Fi bands seamlessly. The parental control feature, however, is quite basic. It allows you to set limits on the hours children can spend online, specify the time of day they have access, and monitor their top five visited sites—these can then be blocked if necessary. While it covers the essentials, I would have appreciated a bit more flexibility and customisation in this feature.Overall, my experience with the TP-Link Archer VX1800v has been excellent. The firmware update process was quick and easy, with no hitches whatsoever. For anyone looking for a reliable and user-friendly router, this device ticks all the boxes for a smooth setup and effective performance.

More than happy with product
Had the VX1800v on for 2 months now. Good sturdy product with very good WiFi range and speeds. As usual with TP-Link setup was a breeze with the Tether app. Had to do some fine configuration via the web UI for my own setup otherwise worked straight out the box. Only gripe was the firmware update neither the web UI or the Tether app said there was an update however upon searching the support webpage an update was available. Downloaded and installed via the web UI without trouble. Paired with an AX53 v1 as access point to increase WiFi range to the garden workshop. These work together seamlessly. The two can also be used together as a mesh setup with Ethernet backhaul (with latest firmware) if needed. Have used TP-Link hardware for many years and have been happy with the products I have purchased.
