Fit like OEM. Eliminated 2006 F-150 5.4 Triton Overdrive Shudder
These were the straight ones which fit my 2006 F-150 5.4 Triton. My truck only has 70k miles, but it started to "shudder" when going into overdrive at 45-50 miles per hour. Wasn't the transmission, it was a misfire, probably on one of the back cylinders (3,4, or 8) which are susceptible to water coming through the hood seal.If you do this yourself, you will have to have a lot of patience to get the back 2 cylinders on the passenger side (3&4) as they are difficult to reach with the major wiring harness and other stuff passing over them. I have smaller hands and was able to reach through and, with various extensions and a flexible parts grabber was able to get it done. To get at cylinders 3 & 4, It might be best to take out the battery, remove the PCM connectors, remove the 4 bolts in the PCM, and remove the back plate for the PCM.Very important to blow everything off well with your air compressor before starting and blow out each spark plug with the coil pack removed. Keep a good grip on the back retaining screws. If you lose them back there it may be hard to find them again. It's not a fun job because of all of the stuff running just over the heads, but, with patience, it can be done.Pulling the wiring connector is easy. There is a squeeze tab way at the top connector on the side opposite of the retaining screw. Squeeze it and wiggle and the connector will come right off. It took me a bit to figure out where this tab was. For some of the cylinders it's easier to first take off the injector connector (the white one). That has an easy to see, but different tab. When I did 3 & 4, I took both out first and then replaced 4 and then 3, as it was easier to replace 4 with 3 out. It's hard to be sure that you actually have the new one connected to the spark plug. Ease it straight down in the hole with the tab aligned with the retainer screw hole. The insulator has protrusions to keep it straight in the hole. Push it down hard and it should seat so that you can't easily pull it back up. There will be a small gap between the retaining arm and the head, so don't worry that it's not all of the way on. Put the screw in and tighten it down and replace the connector. The connector will make a small snap when in place and you will not be able to pull it back without squeezing the tab.I started my truck after each coil pack install to ensure that it was seated properly and that it was a good coil pack. I crossed my fingers and took it for a road test and, sure enough, the shudder was gone and the engine idled totally smooth. So I guess these coil packs were all good.

Just what was needed
Ok. Was nervous buying these coils since all 8 of these for my 07 F150 FX4 cost less than half of the price as one Motorcraft coil from the dealer. These were direct replacements for the original coil and if all you need is the boot if your old boots are worn then the boot is capable of being swapped over to the factory coils. However the spring inside is a larger diameter than the factory spring and does not make solid contact with the blade inside the factory coil head. So they are not a safe replacent for the spring in an old coil pack head. Now I installed these coils on all 8 cylinders on 7/24/24 and they have been working fantastically since day one.I will update this review as time goes along or if one or more of the coils fail in the future but as of right now 8/14/24 could not be happier since I was able to replace all 8 for less than the price of one.

Cheap low performance waste of money!
It looks and way and feels like my original coils. After 3 on my coil old coils was burnt out I installed these three out of eight you're working just fine like nothing was wrong with my car. Fully value I'm getting eight coils for this price I only use three I still have 5 more coils left as backup in case this time I need it. The box said do not separate the coils they are as set which is false after separating them I use three on a date and they work the same.I will update if they don't last4/9/3029 updated a week later after installing these coil. These Coils are not putting out enough power, there is power but not enough to push my engine. After checking many times if my coil that I got is not Dead DOA. They are not high performance or energy output.I installed all 8 coils and my car struggle like it is coughing. Extremely high idle, the coil put out energy but not high enough the performance is not for my car it doesn't fit5.4 3 value engine Lincoln Mark LT 2006Same engine as the Ford F-150
