Update: Amazon’s return team is junk. I got a replacement and no packaging was opened or missing and the NEW truck works great! I obviously received a returned item and the previous owner was not honest with their return. I did reach out directly to the company to let them know of what I felt was a flaw in the hinge to the truck and they were very responsive. I will continue to buy this brand. Great educational toys!I have an almost 3 year old that loves tools so this was a hit. As a mom, I noticed the flaws, but he will likely not notice them.Con: The package did not come with the person & animal. The door to the back of the dump does not stay shut very well. A gentle tap will make it fall down.Pro: super cute. Drill is easy to use. Love that you can repurpose the box as a garage & road. Fun colors.I would purchase again, but not for full price. I got it for around $15. I have a feeling the hinge to the back dump will give out quickly because it is pretty flimsy as is.

I bought this for my 3 yr old grandson and he loves it…he will sit there for an hour “working” on his truck. And for a 3 yr old to sit still that long is saying something!

I like the idea of the product. My son loves it. It’s not too complicated for him to figure out, so he can easily sit by himself and quietly work on his trash truck.My only complaint is that there is no storage for all the bolts. The picture shows the bucket of the trash truck holding the bolts, which while true it will hold some bolts, it doesn’t hold all the extras it comes with. And the back, where the garbage would go, isn’t an option because the flap does not stay closed.Overall, it’s a neat toy that allows for some creative thinking of their own. If you can get past the storage for all the extras bolts, then it’s a good toy that is fairly inexpensive.

This toy is well-designed and good quality for the price. Other plastic vehicles and playsets we have are built with thin, flimsy plastic and moving parts that fit too loosely or too tightly and that barely fulfill their intended purposes (e.g. a construction vehicle with a back hoe arm that doesn't swivel smoothly on its hinges). This toy is not like that: it's mostly sturdy plastic and the moving parts move smoothly and as intended; it's easy to tell that it was designed and manufactured with higher standards.The drill is awesome. It can spin CW and CCW (or anti-CW) but does so gently and the motor has a failsafe (clicking sound) to prevent screws from being over-tightened. The screws go in and come out smoothly enough to do so effortlessly by hand.It is true that the back door of the truck seems like it won't stay shut very well. In my case, it does stay shut, but it does seem a little weak. (Edit: after playing with it more, I have to say that it is quite weak and pops open at the slightest jolt or force from the inside, e.g. when the bolts are dumped into the truck bed. This is the toy's one flaw!)Best of all, my 2.5 y/o is totally captivated by the drill and drilling action; I think the makers are really onto something with this whole power drill thing!

Like most families, we are staying home due to COVID-19 and avoiding going out for our health and safety. It’s been tough trying to work from home and take care of our children. Our 4-year-old has A LOT of energy and has a tendency to get bored very easily. We ordered the Design & Drill Bolt Buddies Pick-it-Up Truck and it arrived just in time as we were running out of ideas for our child. She immediately took interest as she looked at the box and was excited to open it up. As soon as we took it out and put batteries inside the drill, she was going at it with the bolts and drilling them into the truck. It took a few tries for her to understand how to use the drill (drilling in vs. drilling out), but she figured it out and her face lit up as she succeeded in constructing and engineering parts of the truck. This is a great educational toy to practice fine motor skills!Our 2-year-old was also very interested as she watched her older sister design and build the parts of the truck. They both love the drill and have even used it to “fix” other things around the house. As a parent, I love that this toy incorporates play, teamwork, fine motor skills, and STEM. It’s teaching our children how to use a life-like, kid-safe toy drill to design and build using their imagination. We also love the eco-friendly packaging so that it can be used as part of the play! There was no waste, which is something we find very important to teach our kids. And it’s also perfect because the truck is designed to be a recycling truck.Overall, we are very satisfied and glad we came across this unique educational toy! Two thumbs up!

My son really likes these design & drill toys. He really likes the recycling truck but the back of the truck does not stay closed. Currently using a small piece of painters tape so he can open it when he wants instead of it constantly falling open. Would be 5 stars if they improved the latch.

Update: 1 star to 5 stars. First review follows this update...they shipped a replacement before they received the return...thank you! He asked every day if his Recycle Truck and Drill had arrived. It arrived within the week. And it works!!! He absolutely loves this toy. 5stars!He really likes this toy but the drill will not work. New batteries, followed directions for inserting them. Would not turn on. Another person tried, read directions, made certain it was correct, still wouldn't turn on.We had to take the toy away from him, gather it all back into the box for shipping back per replacement instructions, essentially ruining my grandson's birthday celebration. He loves the toy and would play with it as is but I bought it based on the reviews about the drill..it's all about the drill, right?The replacement drill had better work. Will update/ reevaluate rating next week.
