Although these are not fully real chocolate, there is some chocolate in them, and they are far superior to the "bark" in the grocery stores. It does cost more but it's worth it to me. I do a lot of baking and have recently begun to make more chocolate treats. These wafers melt nicely in the microwave and taste like good quality chocolate without leaving a waxy taste in your mouth. I made peppermint patties this year and the chocolate was great for dipping and set up nicely. The people I shared them with all said they were delicious. I use about 15 pounds of dark chocolate and 10 pounds of white chocolate a year. I buy it in late fall so it's cool enough not to melt them and have never had a problem with that. I highly recommend this product.

I've bought this chocolate several times for various projects, and I already have two more bags in my cart! Delicious, smooth texture, easy to melt, and definitely a good value. Last year was the first time I used a silicon mold for Easter candy, and I plan to make more this year. I noticed a bit of a learning curve with ensuring there are no bubbles in the mold, so this time, I will be using a toothpick to swirl the chocolate before placing in the freezer for 20 minutes. The chocolate sets pretty quickly, and I've never had any issues with breakage. I highly recommend this chocolate!!!

DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY. Chocolate came visibly beat up. Chocolate looked a little funky to me but I was hoping for the best. I am an experienced treat maker and I worked with my aunt who is also highly experienced, we didn’t bring the heat higher than 92 at any point (best dipping temp is 91-95 degrees) and no matter how low we kept the temperature it bloomed HORRIBLY every time. I contacted the seller for a refund and they denied it and tried to educate me on how to heat chocolate - by reciting the process I already use back to me. Ridiculous! They refused to admit that their product was heat damaged through transit and then just stopped replying. Horrible product and horrible customer service. DO NOT BUY. I am not even convinced it’s real Merckens given the poor quality. Please save your money and shop local instead of this terrible product. It was for my wedding which makes it all the worse.

I’m sure the chocolate tastes great, haven’t tried it yet. It came in a big ball of melted goo. Will have to cut the amount needed from the big ball of chocolate which is ok. I will just buy from local store from now on.

This bag is purchased in 2023 was great. Melted really well. On to 2024 I purchased another bag knowing how is was from 2023..and not so much. I noticed a dim look to it..but trusted it was fresh and that the company would send there great product. It took along time to melt and was very thick when it did. I've been chocolate candy for all my holidays for many yrs so I know in my heart of hearts I didn't do anything different. Not sure what the problem was. I'll give them another chance and if it's still the same outcome I'll move on to another company. Also if they could make it alittle easier getting the package open that would be wonderful! Arthritis in my hands prevents from opening easily. Thank you!

It arrived melted, so I was a bit worried. I melted it again when I was ready to use it and it still tasted amazing. There were no discrepancies in color after melting it again. If I could describe the taste of it, it be between Hershey’s and Dove chocolate. It’s really good. Great for molds!! Melts easily and has a great consistency without adding creams or oils.
