Wheeler Engineering Hammer and Punch Set with Brass, Steel, Plastic Punches, Brass/Polymer Hammer and Storage Case for Gunsmithing Maintenance

Love this kit. Have used it for many years assembling and disassembling everything I own many many times. But I was pretty upset today to find out the brass punches aren’t 100% brass but basically brass coated. Other than that I have zero complaints about this kit. Yes they bend as some have said but they can be bent back (maybe not so much the smaller brass punches) and still used. I’d recommend this kit everyday but if you’re reading Wheeler, 100% brass would be great even if price came up.

I have many Wheeler products and appreciate the quality. This is a nice punch set. Excellent value. Essential for gun smithing.

We bought this set of hammer and punches some years ago, and I've probably used it at least a couple times a week since we got it. It's perfect for small projects, like gun smithing or 3D printing, machine work, anything that needs a fine hand and small tools to knock things into or out of holes. This is my go-to whenever I need a small hammer, for anything. The punches are well made and durable, and the hammer is perfectly weighted. It has a metal striking surface and a plastic striking surface, which is handy.

Good tool kit for the money. The case is nice, tools are of good quality and will suffice for average servicing. If you are setting up your bench for service work you might look into something more robust and professional. This is a good kit to keep in your cleaning tools arsenal. Recommended.

I was a bit skeptical buying this because some bad reviews stating the punches bend or break easy an the hammer is cheap quality but I'm glad I ordered it anyways.I needed a set to take apart my sccy cpx 2 an this set did the job great no issues I did get a slight bend in one of the small steel punches but that was more my fault I'm sure because I got it stuck in a frame pin hole, tapped it in a tad to far and had to pull an twist an hammer it out backwards but it still works great. Ive used it since than an it hasn't bent anymore so I'd say it's a pretty strong little punch. so far I've used this set to hammer out pins on a couple firearms and replace a clutch arm on a 300ex 4 wheeler.I also love that it comes in a hard case to keep everything nice and handy and organized. it is hard to get some of the punches in an out of there spots, it's a tight fit, but I'd rather have it be to tight then to loose an falling out or rattling an it'll probably loosen up a bit from use.

Been a gun owner for over a decade but would always go to a gunsmith for even little things because I wasn't confident working on them myself for fear of messing up. Def recommend others to just dive in and buy a few thing such as a sturdy vise, this kit, and a couple of allen wrenches. Now ive build my own AR15's replaced triggers and sights etc on my pistols and worked on others. Not only do you save $$$, you really gain a deeper insight into how your guns work and function.The punch set/kit is great. Hammer works wonderfully. Punches are all great and durable. Highly recommend to others

This is the realist review of all reviews. I spent time looking for a good punch set because I'm a beginner at this stuff. This is a great set. Came on time, and of quality. I used two of the punches along with the brass and nylon side of the hammer. I must say, they worked exceptionally well. No bend nor mushroom deformity. There were a few brass speckles, but it was okay. I just wiped it off and did not cry about it. I'd purchase this set for a friend and I'd purchase it again. If you're looking for good quality and in the budget range. This set is for you. Good luck and be gentle. This is not Mjollnir you're using to hit the punches.

I got this to put together a AR-9, but I haven't got to use them yet. However, other Wheeler tools that I have are reliable quality for the price. By "for the price" I mean that they're not really professional quality, but you're not paying for that, and that they are good tools for the rest of us.
