Great headphones
Bought them to replace an old, cheap pair for gaming and general use. They are quite different as follows:- build quality: they feel light and 'plasticky', but I believe that's to aid during long sessions. It doesn't feel the sturdiest but it's not gonna break either. Definitely not heavy after many hours.- fit: they don't have a headband, rather two pastic bits that rest on the top of yur head. I did not have problems since the first time I've used them but you might not like them. I do not like the sort of headphones with a thick, heavy band on top of your head, they tend to weigh and tire me after an hour or so. This system however does a great job, not a single complaint and I was pleasantly surprised after being very skeptical about them.- sound quality: I'm NOT an audiophile nor I am an expert in audio whatsoever. However, they are hands down the best sounding headphones I've used after my M50x, period. The open back is great and opens up a new dimension in gaming (and not only there to be honest). You can perceive directions much more easily and the sound is more "natural". There is some bleeding and people are going to hear what you are listening to if they really pay attention. Another great thing is the fact you can hear sounds around you. However, if you are in a noisy enviroment the headphones won't shield a thing. It's great if you still want to be aware of your surroundings i.e. somebody knocking on your door or if the kids wake up,- mic quality: good, loud and clear. There's some static but doen't interfere with its job.In conclusion this is a great pair of headphones, light and great sounding with a comfortable fit. I would recommend them without hesitation.BIG DISCLAIMER: I purchased them for £110 during a lightning deal or something. I have been tracking the price for some months and I believe this price to be the best. It's incredible they used to be sold at £250+. £100-£150 is a good price but they can still be expensive for some.

This is THE headset you want to buy if you're serious about gaming/streaming.
This is THE headset you want to buy if you're serious about gaming/streaming.It's open-air, meaning there will be some sound leak as a sacrifice for more a more natural sound profile, and the microphone isn't sensitive enough to pick up on its own sound which is great. You can adjust the microphone settings through "Windows Sound" system settings, but I've found it best to just keep it as it is. It feels sturdy when you put it on your head, it doesn't feel like cheap plastic or anything and the ear-cups are large enough to even cover my dumbo-sized ears.At original RRP (£300) these still felt like they were worth the price. Eventually the price will drop and if you can find it for even near half the price, they're a complete steal. If you want to make full use of them, buy yourself a headphone amplifier too. It will vastly increase the sound quality of what you're hearing and will actually help you in games too because you can hear footsteps easier etc. It almost makes you feel dirty with how much of an advantage you can get.If you're playing for long periods of time, you wont get uncomfortable. If you want a full headset including microphone, you cannot go wrong with this microphone quality without buying a standalone microphone and even then, the difference is minimal. This is good, I like it.Five Stars.Review for: Audio-Technica ATH-ADG1X High-Fidelity Open-Air Gaming Headset

Worth the prize if you have the money for it.
This was good while it lasted. Lasted about two years. Sadly don't have that kind of money to warrant this purchase but, this was so good, and the volume for it was crisp and high-quality.

The worst Audio Technica's I've ever come across. Avoid like the plague
Audio Technica. A name that if you know their products would be fooled into thinking that the ATH-G1's are a good product. They truly aren't. The only thing "gaming" about this product is them "gaming" your bank balance.Light, flimsy materials packed in plastic container enclosed in a nice cardboard box. The headphones themselves are way too light. The sound is empty. Lost. And totally not worth the name of Audio Technica. The padding while comfortable doesn't help the sound quality at all. There's bass and middle with a lack of range between the two and the high sounds are just empty like the rest of the sound. A complete mess. The headband is thin metal that is likely to break if accidentally sat on, not to mention the connection plastic to metal holdings that connect the headphone drivers to the headband. The ONLY saving grace to these things are the snug fitting 3.5mm jack plug. The volume/mute control on the USB-C to 3.5mm jack seems to date back to the 1980's in awful design and quality. Blocky, uncouth and you have no idea which is up or down in volume until you've deafened yourself by accident.Priced at the time of buying at £149.99, I would rather be paid £149.99 to stick cotton buds in my ears and make loud bassy sounds in a public toilet than use these "gaming headphones". The ATH-G1's.... Absolute Trash Headphones-Grossly (overpriced) 1('s). A waste of money, materials and it's shameful they even exist.Avoid. Just don't buy them. Trust me. Seriously....just don't buy them.
