Fits perfectly and works great. Good as new!
I was having trouble with my rear hatch latch staying closed and found this replacement for a fraction of the cost that the dealer wanted. 10 minute fix and easy to install.

Works like OEM
I have a 2013 VW Tiguan SEL. This went in easy. All parts matched up. Works perfect. Saved a lot of money by doing this myself (You-Tube has video). Also, save by buying this and not an OEM. Would definitely recommend.

If you need this BUY IT!!!!
less than 12 hours before a 5 day trip my hatch wouldn't open on my 2015 Golf TSI. At first I thought its as just something stuck in the latch, but nothing would work to free it up. I ended up removing some internal trim pieces and using rope to ensure the hatch wouldn't open (had the rear seats folded down and tied the rope to the latches on either side). It handled the trip just fine but on my return I was still left with a hatch that wouldn't open! After some research I got bolder and forced it open. What I found was this actuator had failed and left it stuck shut. I did my research and found this little gem, it was delivered within about 30 hours of ordering and installed within about 20min (I already had a lot of the trim loose or off). Once installed it was functioning normally immediately. 1000mi and many hatch openings later its still working great! Can't see a need to spend 7-10x more for an "OE" version if this one fits and works so well!

fixed our trunk
This fit our 2012 Beetle. The trunk works again. Not much more to say! It's not a genuine VW part, but at this price I think it's a good buy. We could replace it 5 times for the cost of 1 from the dealership parts department. Original one lasted 10 years, hopefully this replacement lasts a long time, but the repair is easy so even if we only get a few years out of it I'll be happy for the price.

Works fine
The hatch on our Jetta wouldn't latch closed. This replace works fine, and it's a lot cheaper than the OEM original.Pretty easy to install. First remove the trim panel. Pop off the covers in the grab pockets adjacent to the latch. Remove the screws using a T20 Torx bit. Pop the retaining clips by pulling the panel down using the grab pockets. There is no need to completely remove the panel. All you need is access to the latch mechanism. Remove the retaining bolts using an 8mm triple square driver (https://www.amazon.com/Capri-Tools-30034-Triple-Square/dp/B00ESMZYV6/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=8mm%2Btriple%2Bsquare%2Bbit&qid=1684778301&sr=8-5&th=1) . Pull the latch out then remove the electric connector. Install the new latch by reversing these steps. Electric plug, triple square bolts, trim, screws, and screw covers. Before clipping the plastic trim panel into place, confirm that the spring metal clips are correctly installed in the panel, and not stuck in their corresponding square holes in the metal hatch door. If necessary use needle nose pliers to remove the metal clips, then slide them into place in the plastic trim. Align the ends of the spring metal clips with their corresponding holes, before clipping them back into place. Replace the T20 torx screws and screw covers. Done!

Fit well. The one part has a slightly longer place shield that looks cleanerOn install, but I’d rather have the cheaper price.2014 TDI Sportwagen

Trunk locking device
Super glad this lock device works perfect on my Beetle trunk. Pays to do your homework than dealing with official dealership.
