Get to grips with a new vice.
A very professional piece of equipment due to the weight I found quite difficult to install but it was well worth the effort.I have found it so useful!

Solid vice.
Box didn't have a Katsu name on it. But its a solid vice, fitted OK and working fine to date. Not had an original Record vice to compare with though. Only defect had been the paint flaking off parts, not adhering to the metal.

Only had a week but superb so far!
Really pleased with this vice. It's only been installed a week but seems great. Some people have complained about the jaws being misaligned but I found the following description on another site selling an extremely similar vice at twice the price..."The jaws are very slightly angled so they meet at the top first. This marginal toe-in feature guarantees your workpiece will always be held firm and true."I found it easy to fit without taking apart and the lack of instructions is not really a problem (surely!).

Cheap
It does the job, like all vices that clamp to a work surface the vice will move about, so for heavy holding, this it not for that job.

Good value
Consider the price when reading this review. It’s about half the price of the better ones.I ordered with Prime and it arrived the next day, which was really helpful. The packing was a basic cardboard box but good enough. There were no dents etc.The vice was assembled in the box, however there were no instructions or hardware. As other reviewers have mentioned, the jaws are not aligned (in 2 directions) I can see where the bars are press fitted into the moving jaw and aren’t in the holes straight. The misalignment for me isn’t an issue - I made the timber jaws a bit thicker and shaved them with a plane until they closed together nicely. It’s worth noting that after doing this, the top edge of the timber jaws are not at a true 90 degrees with faces.Although anyone fitting these will likely have access to hardware, the mounting holes are rather large, I had to use a few washers. The screws I used were hex head coach screws, this was because I didn’t want any metal on the bench top.Separating the jaws will make fitting easier as these are quite heavy. If you put the back screws in first loosely, you can slide the vice onto them while you insert the front ones.Last bit, make your timber jaws from soft wood so they don’t mark anything you’re holding.

A good sturdy vice
Yes it's heavy and I can understand why some would find it difficult to fix to the bench. However with a little though it's not that difficult.I am impressed with this product; a smooth open/close operation and the parallelism and toe of the jaws is good. In addition and I have fixed soft wood to the for added protection to work pieces. The product was suitably protected against transit damage and the delivery was on time. Would recommend.
