Understand what your buying
Want to clarify that even though the product says to heat to 160F, technically this meat was cured with enough salt to make sure that bacteria cold not live in that environment. It is called cold curing or some refer to it as “chemically curing.” It is no different than a prosciutto ham . It has never been cooked and not meant to be. Same with Spanish hams, and LOX (Cold cured unsmoked king salmon) which was packed in a saltwater brine to survive the long trip to market before we had reliable refrigeration. Therefor this product is naturally salty by design. I ate 3 oz (one pack immediately and loved it and I’m not worried about getting sick. If you do not like the salt content I suggest you buy a city ham, injected with liquid smoke but not dry cured. Both are excellent. I like both. But a true country ham has some history behind it and it is an acquired taste. Just like Italian and Spanish dry cured hams as well as real Jewish LOX, which are not smoked but can still run 35 bucks a lbs. the 3 oz packaging was nice but your still paying 20 a lb for this ham, close to a prosciutto at a deli. To me it was worth it and I will buy it again. But first timers? Understand what your buying before bashing the product.

Great flavor
Good stuff. Somewhat less salty than an alternative on Amazon, although that one's good too. Great flavor. Will buy more (and have!).

Terrific Country Ham
This ham is (a) perfectly sliced, (b) excellently packaged, and (c) absolutely delicious. It's a great combination of saltiness, nutty flavor, and serving proportions. As a Yankee (yes, I live in WA state, where country ham simply doesn't exist), this is my go-to country ham for biscuit and roll sliced deliciousness.

SALT!!!
I soaked it over night . I took it to the meat laundry. The quality is very very good however the level of saltiness is not for the armature. I'm sure there are techniques and recipes for this product just know it is extremely salty.

Way too salty with a weird texture
I am sorry that I didn't lie this product. I simmered and rinsed the ham slices a couple of times, and it was still too salty for my tastes. It also had a weird texture, i.e., dry and chewy in spite of being boiled. Too bad for me, I guess. My taste buds just didn't like it.

Love country ham on breakfast sandwiches and with greens
I love country ham and when staying at my cabin in the VA mountains I found this product in the local markets. I will admit it is a cured bit on the saltier side but the smaller mm pieces make great ham, cheese and egg english muffin sandwiches. I also like to heat them in a frying pan and put them in when making greens. I had been unable to find the product when jone in Florida so unordered thru Amazon and although I ugh cheaper in the VA mountains still a great product if you like country ham. These are just pieces noy a full ham slice
