Amazing! Perfect for wood
Wow! This stuff is amazing! I've used it on so many applications, and it's worked everytime! I just much it to the consistency I need, let it dry and wow! I've drilled into it, I've sanded it, you name it, I've used it to fill the hole from a door handle I removed, sanded and painted over it with great results. It doesn't take a stain and the color is similar to manila folder but it will take paint. I rebuilt a corner brace that was under a table top where parts of the old wood splintered off. Just made a form, filled the gaps with this putty, drilled the lag bolt holes and it was perfect. Too many uses to list here. And a little goes a long way. The directions are a little vague so you'll just need to adjust the water/powder ratio as you go along.

Initial prep is important, right amount of water vs putty, results in very strong durable patch.
Once it is mixed and prepared correctly, you get a strong wood fill that can be sanded and relied on to support your project just like real wood.

Good stuff
Been using this stuff for 30 years. Easy to mix and once fully hardened, can be drilled, tapped and sanded for easy repairs on wood, plaster and drywall. I always try to keep some of this on hand.

You’ll never go back to pre-mixed filler again. Powdered product you mix when you need. BRILLIANT!
Once you buy this filler, you will NEVER go back to the pre-made stuff. Everyone has experienced the frustration of finding that tube of pre-made stuff you bought 6 months ago for some other project you did and it’s now hard as a brick. These days are over with this stuff because you only mix up what you need when you need it. Quit screwing around AND wasting your money. Buy this and you’ll always have wood filler on-hand. It’s a powder....Add a bit of water, mix with a popsicle stick & you’re ready to go. I don’t know why they don’t advertise this better. I never heard of it until I read a recommendation on somebody’s blog about it. I don’t think I’ll need to buy wood filler for the rest of my life. I’ve used this on a whole bunch of projects, filling nail holes in baseboards, fixing bad spots on some wood furniture & fixing the holes in cabinet drawers from old hardware when I changed to new hardware. Just get it, you won’t be sorry

Dries hard, holds up, sands great—amazing stuff!
I'd read great things about Durham's Water Putty on a number of DIY sites, and I have to say that it lives up to the hype. I'd been doing some wood repair on doorknobs (to put on new strike plates) with other types of standard wood putty, and while some of those can withstand a little standing, they have a tendency to crumble. Trying to drill in that stuff was a lost cause. Durham's dries hard and quickly, and my pilot holes drilled easily without causing the surrounding putty to crumble. The consistency when done is more like a dried plastic than anything. If you're planning to paint the finish when done like I am, I think it's the perfect thing. I can't argue with the performance, or the price. Plus, since you mix it with water yourself, it has a long shelf life—rather than your standard putty which has the potential to dry out. Fantastic stuff.

Good stuff to keep on hand
Good wood filler, mix with water and easy to sand and fill, mix with yellow/white glue tougher and a good filler. mix with C/A rock hard use a file to sand, mix with epoxy makes good fillets but shape before it sets or you will find out what rock hard means. Good stuff to keep on hand, cheap and lasts a long time

Great for repairing door frames!
I’m moving in about an month and need to make a few repairs to my home. The door frame appeared like it was kicked in and repaired before I moved in - I wanted to fix this before leaving. After watching a video on a similar repair, I decided to purchase this water putty. I used a 4 water putty powder: 1 water ratio to make the paste and it slid into holes and cracks smoothly. It dried quickly, and I was easily able to sand and chip away rough edges. I’m very proud of myself for doing this without help!

Long shelf life and easy to use
Most other putty comes paste form will dry up quickly if you don't finish in a few days. I have wasted a lot of money on it because I almost never finish using a can for a small repair. They are expensive too. But this water based putty that comes in powder form. All you need to do is to add proper amount of water. It solidifies within a few hours without shrinkage or cracks. It is sandable and as hard as any other filler I have used. It is quite inexpensive for the amount of putty you can make out of a can. The best thing is that you can store away the unused portion for the next project.
