If you're black pepper junkie then this is the grinder for you!
I love black pepper. I love it so much i use obscene amounts of it. French fries? I'm gonna add so much pepper that the ketchup gets dark. Clam chowder? Spice it up!This little booger would get 10 stars if I could give it 10. It throws out pepper like you wouldn't believe, and it's easy to adjust the grind size. It also holds a lot more peppercorns than you'd expect, ad is easy to refill with a modicum of "cup your hand, hold this just so, pour in"

Grinder is somewhat delicate, not as robust as a wooden grinder, so be gentle! Superb warranty.
The “OXO Good Grips Radial Pepper Grinder” with its ergonomic crank is a good grinder while it works, however, after 3 years of light home use, the permanent (non-serviceable) grinding assembly and crank shaft fell out, spilling peppercorns all over the table. Rated 2 of 5 stars due to this anomaly. Although 3 years may seem like a long time, other traditional grinders in our family have been grinding for 60 years and still work fine today! The easy loading flip-down loading gate, rotating crank, and high output with each rotation are its best features, surpassing all other grinders. Somehow, the locking-ring that secures the shaft to the interior support bridge broke off, allowing the shaft and grinder mechanism to freely fall out. After gently squeezing and removing the gate, a makeshift repair using a piece of stainless steel 0.041 inch diameter lock-wire was wrapped around the groove in the shaft and twisted-down securely. After re-installing the gate, it's now working again and averted purchasing another grinder.Other buyers reported the clear plastic flip-down loading-gate easily broke. While it appears easy to accidentally break the delicate gate, to prevent damage, grasp the grinder body with the loading gate against your palm with fingers securely wrapped around the back of the grinder body. This will minimize stress on the gate while grinding.UPDATE: March 23, 2025: After the pepper grinder broke, a review of OXO's warranty showed it being under a lifetime warranty. Following which, the online warranty form was completed and submitted accordingly. OXO replied within a day and immediately shipped a replacement! The new replacement was received via FedEx a few days later and is working great. Although, my makeshift repair of the original grinder is still holding-on. I applaud OXO for honoring its warranty and no hassle replacement. It is recommended for everyone to purchase OXO products and enjoy a lifetime of excellent service. My rating was raised to 5 of 5 stars! Good luck, Mark V.

Love the grinder but…
The little plastic window, where you load peppercorns is flimsy, and your hand ends up, pressing on it, and it pushes into the inside of the grinder. It needs to be more sturdy and not so easily pushed in.

Overall good; not as good if material has moisture
Overall these are good. I have six (was seven) and for dry materials, these work very nicely. They can produce a fine grating fairly quickly.I don't really care for the little door to fill and it would be nice if it held more, but is passable.A bit further on the negative size is that they are hard to clean properly. Basically I clean and submerge in water until I'm sure all the soap has been removed and then let it sit in front of a fan with the clear fill door open for a couple of days to make sure moisture is going from all inaccessible areas.I have two things that it did not work well. One is a lemon pepper seasoning for fish and it gummed up. The other is an Italian seasoning and it bind up and broke the shaft in one. So, lesson learned. In short, they are generally good and is a productive design but has limitations.BT recommended for most dry materials

Easy and simple!
I love this grinder! I have arthritis and have a hard time with twisting lids, etc., so I bought this. I used it daily and ended up wearing out the spring. Bought another!

Great grinder.
Our own broke. But it had been used for 15 years. Great grinder.

Good grinder, bad ergonomics.
I find the crank to be just a grippy as advertised; however, my hands get a little greasy or wet when cooking and then I cannot grip the base. Either it slips through my hand, or when I squeeze it to keep it still, my hand rides up into the crank. Decent product, but might not be for me.
