It *JUST SIMPLY WORKS* and it works *VERY WELL*.
Plug-and-play, man. Plug-and-play.I used several of these on several older desktop computers.I use them on Windows 10 pcs, as well as Linux machines. You DO NOT HAVE TO INSTALL *ANYTHING*. EVER.You do not have to contact anyone, ever. No need to contact support, ever. They just work.Plug them into your PC no matter what operating system you're using and the computer will recognize them within a split second as if the machine had always had wi-fi.No matter what operating system or computer you're using, I've yet to find a problem or inconvenience with this brand.I've tried _other brands_ and THEY WERE **TERRIBLE**. Didn't work, came with INSTALL CDs (if you can believe that!) which didn't even work. Went online to chat with "support" and they asked me to basically install malware onto my machine (google "MOK" keys) at the bios level in order to use their wi-fi antennas.Don't try messing around with shady copies that advertise a price that's a dollar cheaper. I tried it and it wasn't worth it, trust me. I was introduced to the CanaKit wi-fi dongle while I was in college and I've come to learn since then that they are the standard in USB wi-fi antennas.

Works perfectly with Ubuntu Mate 18.04
Plug in - see wireless networks. Connect. Unplug, connection lost. Plug back in, reconnects automatically. If this is not plug and play - I don't know what is! Did not have to tinker with any drivers or recompile anything.

Works as expected
Worked great on my OPENWRT Raspberry Pi Router. Literally it was plug and play.

The chipset is supported by the RaspberryPi OS out of the box / off the disk.
This was essentially plug and play with my RaspberryPi 400. Plugged it in and it showed up immediately as an available interface. I used it for an exercise to create a new host wireless access point that forwarded/bridged over the existing one that was running on the internal WiFi interface. Totally successful.

Great cheap little wifi adapter
I bought this to go with my linux tablet because of issues with the onboard wifi driver. It worked out of the box like a dream. It's not the fastest but then neither is my tablet. my primary concerns were working out of the box and low profile and it delivered on both.
