Although this Aveeno mineral sunscreen may leave a slight cast, I’ve found it to be better than some of the other more ‘pricy’ ones. It doesn’t leave your face feeling sticky but is absorbed like a good face cream. My husband, who is outside every day, also uses it. While I have fair skin, he has a darker complexion. After he applies it, the cast seems to disappear within a short time.I use it after applying my usual moisturizers in the morning & I put a fair amount on my fingers & dot it all over my face (makes it easier to spread it evenly), making sure I rub it in. After leaving it on for about 5~10 minutes, I apply my makeup as usual. I use Simple micellar facial gel wash to remove makeup at the end of the day.

I use the Aveeno sunscreens because they are purported to be gentle on the skin and they're also well rated by the Environmental Working Group (EWG). They also offer superior sun protection. That said, this particular product smells, it doesn't spread easily, and it leaves a white residue on your skin after you apply it, even after rubbing it in really well. However, when I wear it, I never get even a mild sunburn, so it works, and I'll continue using it.On the positive side, unlike many sunscreens, it doesn't sting my eyes. It does not wash off easily (great if you sweat a lot, not so great if you're trying to get it off you). Even after taking a shower, I still seemed to have a bit of residue and a lingering odor of the sunscreen.In short, this is a serious sunscreen, so it's good if you're going to be out in the sun a lot, and you just want a sunscreen that will protect you from the sun. However, if you're looking for something to wear under makeup, or for a more glamorous occasion than going to the beach or hiking, etc., this isn't it.

I've been searching for mineral sunscreen as I have never trusted the more typical chemicals that absorb into skin. Most times, mineral based sunscreens give me a weird white cast and are not very spreadable. These are to be expected and I almost resigned myself to looking like the person with the weird white glow when doing recreational activities. This product so far hits the mark for me. For the SPF protection it provides, my face isn't as cast in white as with other lesser SPF mineral based products. It's also surprisingly more spreadable than expected. My husband could barely tell I'm using it the first time I put it on and he even asked me if I'd forgotten to put on sunscreen. Only hiccup is that the first tube came in a pouch, and as there's no protective seal on the tube, the contents spilled into the bag. However, Amazon quickly sent a replacement. I'd suggest the manufacturer to put a seal on the tubes before shipping to retailers.

I got this sunscreen for daily use to, ya know, keep the wrinkles away and keep the men thinking I’m using witchcraft to maintain my youth 🧙‍♀️ Gotta keep our secrets from the church ladies.Anywho, this sunscreen was far from subtle. Firstly, it felt like I was applying GLUE, it was so thick 😱 I mean I felt BAD just rubbing it on because it was so thick and sticky it was pulling my skin in every direction.Once that nightmare was over, I had to leave for work as one does (and yes, I waited 30 min for it to absorb). When I got out of my car it looked like a straight up MURDER scene and the Pillsbury doughboy was the innocent victim! 😱 I’m talking white residue ALL OVER my black leather interior. It’s been 2 days and it’s still there! 😩But no worries, ya girl needs to make that money 💰 So while I’m at work, I start to notice my arms and chest are slowly getting whiter and whiter as the product dried more. FRIEND... I looked like a lizard ready to shed all the 🐂💩 Literally by the end of my shift my whole body was white and everything I touched left residue.Needless to say, not very punk rock of them.
