MCAT Studying Essential (For The Minimalist...)
If you're reading this then you have committed to a monumental task; the MCAT.Arguably the hardest test someone our age can take, so any resource is invaluable, right? Not so.The MCAT, I have learned along the way, is about HOW you think, and not WHAT you know, necessarily (but don't think that means you can get out of memorizing your amino acids!). My point is that too many courses focus on content review when in reality our prerequisite coursework has prepared us for the worst of it. So if you want to have a solid majority of the information in one place, concise and comprehensible, with illustrations and practice questions for when things get hairy, then by all means order this book. I have used it for about 2 hours a day since I ordered it, and have learned a lot.Yes, the 7 book series has more information, and some people would definitely be better suited to that option, but not all of us. Not those of us who understand overarching themes that have been taught in our classes and are just looking to brush up on specific terminology and details. Is everything you need to know in this book? probably not, but the vast majority of it is.Ultimately, my advice regarding this book would be to buy it and use it. That's all. Learn the information, be confident, take practice tests, and know that you're taking the right steps. I think a lot of us could benefit from the brevity and consistency that this resource provides.Good luck to all, we got this!

Very Good Source for the MCAT
As someone who's taken the MCAT, this book provides nearly everything you will need for it. The manner in which the content is presented also contributes a good level of depth into topics which the reader may be learning for the first time or might have forgotten. The book contains helpful practice problems in the Biology, Chemistry and Physics sections that can help test the reader's familiarity with the subjects. The book does contain minor grammatical errors and some involving practice problems (which are easily distinguishable). This is understandable, as many MCAT resources tend to contain these errors considering the vast amount of information that they cover. It would have also been good to include practice problems in the Psychology/Sociology section, as this section does require more than simple memorization. There are a few specific things that aren't present in the Biology and Psychology/Sociology sections of this book (ex. every enzyme involved in glucose metabolism). While this isn't completely necessary, the unpredictable nature of questions on the MCAT may make this a minor hindrance for the few random questions that ask you to know this information. While I often tell others to use multiple sources to study for the MCAT, I believe this book contains a solid base from which around 95% of the necessary material is present. The majority of the book came in good condition, yet the exterior edges of the book were somewhat worn. Since it is a paperback book that was transported in a package envelope, this is somewhat expected. Overall, this is a very good book that I would recommend as a main resource of review for the MCAT. It occupies a "Goldilocks" zone in terms of its content and presentation, not too overwhelming for a newcomer looking to prepare for the MCAT.

Comprehensive review for the 2019 MCAT
This TPR MCAT review book covers such a great wealth of knowledge and skills needed to do well on the MCAT - perhaps the most comprehensive test prep text out there for this test! The book begins right away by covering lab techniques, which are heavily emphasized on the test. Then, it takes deep dives into each subject, one by one. I love the fact that it is compacted into one book, and that it continues to use TPR's in-chapter critical thinking questions. The tear-out guide was not well written in comparison to the high quality of the text; perhaps the most insufficient part of the tear-our was the biology section. I noticed that multiple subtopic content areas in the tear-out are written verbatim compared to Kaplan's Quicksheets. This was disappointing given that TPR's Biology is the most thorough among the many MCAT prep texts out there. For the lab techniques and psych soc subject review chapters, the content review was great, however, there were no in-chapter critical thinking questions, which made it less engaging. Overall though, I am very impressed with the depth that the book covers and would say this ranks as one of my top quality resources for my MCAT studies.

The MCAT is hard, and the MCAT is important, but this book is not the answer
I wouldn't recommend this book. It has a lot of relevant information, sure, but it has a TON of irrelevant information. If you're looking for a high yield content review source, then this isn't the answer. You'll be wasting too much time learning stuff that isn't completely relevant on exam date. However, this does contain basically all of the information content wise you need to know for the exam.

This book is as advertised, a comprehensive review.
Great presentation of all of the pertinent facts. Id recommend using this to create flash cards and practice questions.S/N: it's really frustrating that we can't downvote bad reviews. One reviewer is apparently upset that the book isn't another product (the 7 book package), and reviewed the book based on those expectations. The price difference should have cued this person in on the differences.

Awesome Deal!
A book covering pretty much all of the MCAT content + 4 online practice tests with this price!! It's a perfect deal!! That being said, you have to keep in mind that there is no one company that will cover every single tiny point ever; that's why we practice and use different resources.

Good overall
Love the set up of the book and the way it breaks each section down. A good all-in-one book option

Great way to review
I would highly recommend this book. It has a comprehensive content review of everything you need to know for the test and at an amazing price. There are 4 practice tests that really reflect the actual MCAT exam. I got my scores back and was very pleased.
