Quilt soap did a wonderful job!
I have some baby booties that have been handed down in the family for over forty years. All of the booties had yellowed but the oldest ones were in the worst shape. These were originally hand stitched from white satin and were over seventy years old. The satin had turned yellow and there were numerous brown marks on the fragile booties. The cleaning process was so simple. I added about a half teaspoon of Quilt Soap to the warm water in my lavatory and added the booties. In less than a minute, the water turned dark yellow, so I drained it, rinsed the booties in clear water. I repeated the process two more times, carefully pushing the water through the fabric each time. When the water was clear, I drained the soapy water again and rinsed everything thoroughly. I was pleased to see the yellow had disappeared and the brown marks were much reduced. The improvement was even more pronounced after the booties were dry. All ready for the shadow box!

Fantastic and Safe
I purchased this to wash my mother's 70 year old wedding gown so my daughter can wear it. This product did an amazing job of removing some of stains and the discoloration of the gown. Follow the instructions, a little goes a long way. I filled my bathtub with warm water and let it soak for about 20 minutes and rinsed then repeated the process.

Mild soap for fragile keepsakes
Have used twice now with good results. For example, followed advice of various online forums and washed a 40 year old wool crewel embroidery keepsake sampler, on linen. Acid stains were lifted with two gentle hand wash cycles. No color dye run and minimal shrinkage of the linen. No dry cleaner would touch it so I did it myself with Orvus. While its a bit pricey, a little goes a long way - just 1/4 tsp for a small basin for handwash, and 1 tablespoon for a bathtub filled to wash a quilt.

Use very little. It deep cleans
Washed my quilt. It washed beautifully. Washed a sweater set and it left it soft and looking new. Love it.

Really cleans well and gentle on delicate fabrics!
I had two family heirloom tablecloths that were hand made by my great grandparents, I think it's called crewel, like lace almost. When I pulled them from the closet they were terribly yellowed with dark brown stains, I don't know why this happened but they looked ruined. I purchased this quilt soap and put two tablespoons in warm water in the bathtub to just cover them. The water turned really yellow brown right away. I left them over night then rinsed them out and ran them on a gentle cycle ( only in a front load machine, never ever use a top load with an agitator!) they came out a lot better and after they dried they lightened a lot more. The dark brown stains did not go away but they were a lot lighter and acceptable for the 100+ years old that they are. The soap is very gentle and will not break down delicate fibers like bleach does. They tablecloths didn't come out looking like new, nothing can do that but they look way better then they did before using this soap.

Product ok, packaging not so much
I ordered this based on favorable reviews stating that it would take discoloration out of quilts and vintage items. A project started by a friend's deceased mother had dye run from dark fabric to light fabric. Upon opening, it was clear that the jar had leaked into the plastic bag in which it was wrapped. In fact, just rinsing my hands after unwrapping the jar produced enough suds to fill a wash basin. On opening the jar, it was clear why this happened. There was no seal on the jar, as normally found on cleaning products, especially those shipped through the mail. With that being said, it would have been worth the inconvenience if the soap lived up to the hype, but it was just OK. It lightened the stain, but nowhere near what I had hoped. This definitely is pricey compared to the performance of the product.
