Interesting book
This is an interesting book which seeks to get underneath the surface to appreciate what lies at the heart of the acoustic expression of the Kaluli tribe from Papua New Guinea. The author brings paints a vast picture of the practises that lets the reader (particularly a Western reader) into a world of living with, in, and through one's natural surroundings, rather than above or separate from. He is unfortunately disparaging of the Christian missionaries, but overall makes a well-researched and empathetic study into this small tribe from Papua New Guinea, that could help to rearrange how we in the West interact with music, and sound itself.
