Easy to use

The EZE-LAP 520 is a high-quality stone and perfect for many sharpening situations. Life is easier when you have the right tool for the job, and this fits the bill for many of those jobs. The obvious use for this is in the field, where light weight and pocket carry are important. At home I have found this to be very useful for sharpening pocket knives, scissors, and even ceramic knives. I don't use this for sharpening my good chef's knives -- for those I use a larger stone such as  Shapton 1000 Grit Professional Series Sharpening Stone , which for me is easier to get a uniform bevel. But I wouldn't hesitate to use this on a larger knife in the field, it is all you need to carry.

I have been using these knife sharpeners for over 12 years and I have found nothing to compare to them. I use fine German cutlery and I always put an edge on the knife in hand so my knives are like razor blades. I usually buy the Fine/Coarse sharpener, because the Super Fine just doesn't do it for me. I also use these when I am out hunting & fishing so I never have a dull knife in the field. I usually buy a few at a time and give them to folks that I visit that have dull knives.

I work as a handyman and find this useful to carry with me. I like this grit combination. Sharpen drill bits, touch up chisels etc. I find EZE-LAP sharpeners last the longest of the sharpeners I have owned.

Sharpens very well. I just wish the case was metal. I was expecting shiny gold (high visibility) metal and got dull gold-brown plastic.
