Works for multiple disks - SATA or iDE drives. And can handle USB and SD cards
works just fine.

Works great could be slightly tricky for ide drive due to lining it up during install but otherwise great

Figure one purpose at a time.
Despite being a dock with so many ports, you can effectively figure you'll only be using it for a single drive at any time. If you have a sata drive, the instructions flat out says none of the other ports will work. If you have an IDE hooked up though, it doesn't say that the memory card slots won't work (and I haven't tested it), but I can't imagine it would. It does point out that despite all the slots you can only use one memory slot at a time. For use, it was super easy. Slap a drive in, turn the switch on and within 1 to 10 seconds (depending on the hard drive's condition) you have access to it. What's that; you want access to windows profiles on an old hard drive and it tells you that you don't have access? As long as you have admin rights on your computer, just hit continue and wait like 5 seconds and now you do. Had saved dozens of old IDE hard drives from some scraping days and it's been interesting.Just one thing, for IDE drives, make sure all the pins are in perfect condition or the drive won't go in. And sometimes the power connector needs to be adjusted left or right (it has a slider). It isn't advertised for it, but it can run an IDE Zip drive in the 3 1/2" IDE slot. Quite handy for anyone who got into the zip drive fad.Overall, for accessing old drives this thing's great. If you're looking for a multi-drive dock, however, this ain't it chief.

Works Great
I have bought several disk and card readers in the past and none of them worked very well. They all were slow and very unrealizable. This one was very easy to setup and use. It worked the first time and has not failed so far. I've mostly used it to access SATA drives and they connect very quickly and the transfer rate is very good. SDD cards work well also. I have not tried it on an EIDE drive yet.Two small issues:1) I really appreciate that it was packed in a right-sized box, but the box was not sealed. When I picked it up off the porch it came open just by lifting it (no tape). Fortunately nothing was missing or broken at all. A small bit of tape on the box would have fixed this.2) There is a red button on the top of the unit, and while it is shown in pictures in the manual it's function is not described as far as I can see. I have not had the guts to push it with a drive installed and running.

Buyer beware
Product only lasted about 9 months then completely stopped working. 1 Year warranty so I emailed and emailed and emailed for some direction on repair or replacement. Nothing, not a single word in 2 weeks of emails. When it worked it did its job. At this point im going to just purchase a new on from a different maker.Just be aware that the company or support is outside the USA so im not sure if there is anything that can be done.

IDE & SATA Hard Drive Dock
I plugged in a SATA 2.5 inch hard drive into the dock, and connected via USB to a desktop personal computer. The desktop computer recognized the SATA drive as an external file, and I was able to read files.I plugged in three different IDE hard drives, and none of them were recognized by the desktop computer.I tried different jumper settings on the IDE drives, and nothing made them available to the desktop computer.I did not test any of the other dock functions like the plug-ins for the microSD or SD cards. If you are working with SATA drives or other cards, this will be fine, but I cannot recommend it for the older IDE drives.

Brilliant bit of kit, works as intended
It works beautifully, I was able to download from the box of old IDE hard drives I haven't accessed since 1999. All of the working drives were successful at downloading from. I was so happy to find old photographs of my wife and dog from more than a decade ago and some other data from the late 90s from a friend of mine that had lost his copies decades ago.PRO's: easy to use, just insert the drive, plug in power and connect the USB to your computer and turn it on. Windows will recognize the drive (if it's still a functioning drive, some of mine were old and I wasn't sure they were still working, and this device proves what I thought) The drives even retained the partition names which I had a good laugh at what I had called my drive partitions 20 years ago.CON's: it can be difficult to insert the IDE drives because you have to adjust the power connector as not all drives are physically the same dimensions, but that is not fully the fault of the unit, I just wish it had a clear window were I could see the connectors to make it easier to insert the drive.Overall works great, easy to use, only a tad difficult to insert without being able to see contactors while inserting the IDE drives. There is also a slot for SATA drives but I have not used that one yet. it looks much easier to insert because all drives use the same dimensions and there is no need to adjust the power pin positions.I would recommend this unit for anyone needing to pull data off of some old hard drives without the need to open and install anything.
